I'm not writing my own/tagging people though, unless I suddenly get inspiration to ask some non-dumbass questions.
What is the most successful New Year’s resolution you have ever made? - I don't really make New Year's resolutions? But really. I can't think of any I've made recently, and I intentionally didn't this year--I just said I hope to keep doing all the healthy things I'm already doing, and that's that.
What is your favorite genre of book? - YA and Fantasy, probably.
What’s the best movie you’ve ever watched on a date, and the worst? Bonus points if they’re both first dates. - Best: RG and I went to see Catching Fire and it was fucking fantastic. (I don't go to the movies a lot, if you can't tell.) Worst: When I was a sophomore in college, I went home with this guy after a party. He had graduated the year before and was living downtown in this funky attic apartment. The second time we hung out, we watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall together and it was SO FUCKING AWKWARD. He was flaky, anyway.
Why did you join Tumblr? (Are you glad you did?) - I joined tumblr in May 2009 because I had just started the most boring summer job in the universe and wanted to blog. I was super fascinated by the microblogging platform, since in the past, it had been difficult for me to write a long-form blog. That was back when tumblarity was still around. Anyway, I kept that up for a little while and familiar faces started to pop up (Jared and Ryan), which led me to a whole wealth of interesting people (Fran, Sasha, you). Tumblr also helped me stay connected to people from my past who stumbled upon it (Joan, Caitlin, people from college). It was actually kind of funny--at first, tumblr was my "secret" outlet, where I could talk about school and intimate things and the people that I knew, so it was really weird around graduation time when tumblr went mainstream and people IRL started following me! I guess I'm coming up on my five year tumblrversary, and I'm kind of excited slash can't believe I'm still using this thing.
If you have a Facebook, could you ever deactivate it for six months or longer? - Nah. Too many people from too many past random things to keep up with.
What is the most embarrassing link on your bookmarks bar? - lawls I have a link to the Cookie Monster script for Cookie Clicker.
What aspects of your individual elementary and/or secondary school experience would you most like to see codified in national policy? - Random really intense question? Haha. I went to high school in a really rich part of the county, so we had a great marching band and music program, and tons of extracurriculars. I guess we can go ahead and say "arts in schools" for this answer. It's pathetic how much non "core" classes are ignored. The high school I worked at in Houston had theatre, band, and visual art, but no chorus or orchestra. NO FRIGGIN CHOIR. WTF.
What sound do you use as an alarm in the morning? - The default ringtone for iOS. "Opening" or what have you. Deedle doo Doo doo Doo doo Doo DOO dum da da doo Deedle doo Doo doo Doo doo Doo DOO...
Do you have any personal characteristics that you particularly want other people to notice? - Like, physical or personality-wise? People already notice my exaggerated petite-ness, so, yeah. I guess I'm a fan of the strong Southern woman sort of thing...friendly, hospitable, but don't-fuck-with-me.
What concept (or feeling or sound or belief) do you wish there were a single word to describe? (As an example, you could wish there were a word for “the pleasure derived from someone else’s pain,” and then you would be pleased to learn that there is in fact a word for that—schadenfreude.) - There should be a word for what "bless your heart" means to Southern people. Aka, "you're a hot mess but I'm still going to be polite to your face."
Which letters of the alphabet do you find most aesthetically pleasing? - I dunno, it depends on the font? I like writing letters with tails.
