Is there a word in any language for the emotion/concept/situation/phenomenon where it's sorta like a fond 'i hate you'? Like one would do to a sibling, an old kinda sorta friend, a crush, ect. Particularly when done in reaction to some sort of teasing?

I don't know that many trans etymologists - or etymologists in general - but I presume they can be divided into two distinct groups:

*Enters the room* "HELLO FROM THE OTHER SIDE"

"I swear to fuck, if I hear another Hello From The Other Side pun I will thrOW HANDS"

I also assume the first group is much larger, because who doesn't love puns?

Are people saying though that she should be able to use the or are they just saying that the word doesn’t have a racist history? Like I agree that her use of the word is bad but people are making it sound like she used a word with a racist history, when she didn’t? Can’t people criticize both Hannah and the way that other people are criticizing her at the same time?

I’m confused by this ask. We are criticizing her for using the word (as well as the context it was used in) and then deactivating/deleting without taking accountability for what she said and how many people she hurt.

I’m confused by what the significance of the word having a “racist history” means. If this is going back to the origins/true definition of the word then again, I really don’t think the origin matters. Idk why people are being so nit picky about whether or not they can use this word just because of the oRiGiNs of it- it looks so similar to the n word. Why would you want to actively use this word to begin with? It’s not your word to use! I really don’t get why this is hard. If people are telling you that they’re hurt by it’s use then don’t use it!

Now I'm thinking, what would anti-contractors/dolls call themselves? There are always "ist" people out there; feminists, Nazists, racists, Buddhists, etc. Humanists? Should I stay on the "ists" theme? Or should we go with the "ians" (ie Christians, Nigerians) or "ese" (ie Chinese, Japanese). Who are word nerds/etymologists here??? Is there some sort of rule for this?

so I was looking into the etymology of 'asunder' because I'm both cool and busy.

it's related to a verb I didn't know 'sunder' - which means to split or divide apparently.  ie. "long ago the men of the land sundered betwix the King's Men and the Faithful"

so here's the question - what is the expression I have always heard as "all unsundry"?  I have recenrly seen it written as all: 'and sundry', 'in sundry', and 'insundry'.  Which is correct and how quite does the idiom take root in the old  or adjective (or more likely) verb? :S
