where did the whole connection between furries and raves even come from? i've been in the fandom for a few years but i'm still confused about why a lot of furry art involves raves.

good question! even though there’s no real answer, I believe it’s because furry conventions have dances every night (typically 10pm-2am) and its centered around rave culture. Usually plays rave-like music (theres a huge range of genres but its all edm) and a lot of people wear glowsticks, swing poi, and all that sort of stuff. I think that’s were the whole furries and raving thing came together, its weird how its such a big thing in the fandom. I believe thats the reason!

do you have any tips for making a spoon system? i would love to have one but i can never tell how i'm feeling and therefore i don't know how i would organize my spoon count!

I don’t have experience myself with making something like that, but I’d suggest trying to see how many things you can do each day without getting exhausted. Keep a tally with you, and find a number that works for you!

lately i've been having an issue where my "friends" are harassing me because i'm self dxed and they keep yelling at me to "go see a doctor" but they refuse to listen when i tell them that my ableist parents refuse to have me tested and i really want to tell them about how a self diagnosis is just as valid as a professional one but i know that they'll make fun of me if i send them something from this blog or others no matter how informative it is because it's from tumblr. how can i educate them?

I’d still look through our resources tag because we have a lot of resources from outside Tumblr, like blogs or YouTube channels. And there’s always ASAN (the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network) if they want something more “authoritative.” Good luck. <3
