hi! i was reading more watchmen last night. (I'm like, 6 or 7 issues in i believe? Im reading a compendium.) and im struck by how much love was put into jerimiah and how much love you have for the universe because oh my god, jerimiah feels like such a natual extension of the concepts introduced in the comics. please keep posting about him 👍

my whole thing w jeremiah has been like. ok. what if a normal person was kinda forced into the role of being a costumed hero. whdao had no clue what the fuck was going on. & tying that in w my personal experience finishing college and realizing the career path i've wanted for years is actually one i am not able to handle & after all this investment is it worth changing it? should i just keep going? or should i hope i find a niche? etc etc

miah is like the third direction of dan and laurie's expereinces of being a costumed hero & how they recover from it. not gonna go into spoilers for their arcs but. waves hand around. miah's whole situation was that he just wanted to do the right thing, and he never saw being a costumed hero as a solution, it was just kinda forced onto him. he went from a childhood planned out for him in the sense of being a cis straight woman who marries into the church and has a traditional family by 22, then woah now he has a whole new life in new york where he can CHOOSE what he wants, so being yanked by the wrist into this new life, he must've agreed to it, right?

the way miah even got his name was from catching a spree killer that was targeting a homeless population while in costume (he encountered the results of one and got help from nite owl & rorschach to catch the man, but he was left alone at the scene and was considered the sole captor) and the police dubbed him a miracle worker because they couldn't do their fucking job & catch the guy. and adrian influences the newspapers because of course he does and he's like "yeah this is the new costumed hero miracle worker" and miah's like. what the fuck are you talking about. and he can't reject that now! the public Wants him to keep doing what he's doing! he's getting SUPPORT!

trust me i'm never gonna say i'm as good of an author as alan moore i will never hit the true intricacies of watchmen but i can try w my little trans gay guy with catholic guilt

i love angel so much can you tell me more about her omg

OUGHHH FAN FAVORITE. i dont have a lot of art of her but basically :3 her parents were bordering hippies that ended up returning to their hometown of cresentwood, GA and having her! they're regulars at their presbyterian church. angel has a rough relationship w her mom and a lot of issues with making friends, but in general she's very well-meaning and social.

but she also has like this wild grab-bag of experience. she's had alcohol from a young age but has never smoked anything before and doesn't know how to even ask. she really wants to get into rock music and horror and sneaks into the library to read thick novels.

she works at a diner! it's a toss-up abt if it's a local place or a waffle house. either way she's a waitress and makes a lot of tips, but tends to get really really bad anxiety in the middle of her shifts.

she doesn't have a lot of long-term friends but she really wants to make them!! especially with mickey, a kid a grade above her that works at the local record shop ^_^ she knows that he sells weed and is general a very quiet guy who's into rock n roll and horror too.
