genie and effie
Emie was taken aback when he offered the rest of the box to her, but before she could protest, he insisted. Grimacing, she finally accepted the box, replacing the lid over it. It wasn't that she didn't appreciate the gesture, but she couldn't possibly eat them all at once. "Well, I did try using a crossbow, but I don't feel the same without a proper bow. I don't know why, it's just the feel of it I suppose. Would you feel more comfortable using a blade over a more automated means?" she asked.
Edmund gave a little smirk at the girl when she accepted the box. The day was hot, not as hot as the summer days at Narnia, but hot for being winter. The chocolate melted a little on the boy's hand and he cleaned it on his tunic. Even though Edmund was a king and had take class of how to act like one, he didn't do it all the time. The boy have kept some bad habits as clean his mouth and hands on the tunic and speak with the mouth full of food.
"Above all things," Edmund started, swinging his sword, "I like to use a sword. It can be my sword, or a scimitar. I'm just not fond of daggers. When it comes to bows and crossbows, I go with the crossbow." He smiled and shook his head a bit, "I've tried to use the bow, but I just can't use it. The crossbow I know how to use it properly, but the bow I always miss the shoot. My sisters can use it well and you know what?" He tilted his head closer her and whispered, "I think the bow is quite a feminine weapon," He smiled and winked.
Emie watched with wide eyes as he put piece after piece in his mouth and burst out giggling. "Oh, your Majesty. I can always find more for you. You needn't worry about anybody else eating all of them. Although, you're right. Perhaps I can sneak in another one," she said, finished her piece and then timidly picking up another one, her eyes on him to see if he disapproved. "I really tried to sword fight, but I couldn't. Besides, I'm not a fan of war, but I had to learn how to wield a weapon."
While Edmund had eaten at least six or seven pieces of the chocolate, Euphémie ate just one. He gave her a smile when she told him she could get more, then he glared her picking another one in a shy way. There were some more on the box and Edmund decided to give it to her. He stretched the box to her and spoke, with his mouth full with the last two pieces he put on his mouth, "For you. It is unfair to eat everything when you were the one who found it. And no," He said before she could decline it, "I want you to have them now,"
"Have you ever tried using a crossbow? I find it much easier than using a bow," He said, cleaning his mouth with his tunic sleeve.
"Oh alright, they were hidden. But I swear one of the chefs saw me sneaking some but he only winked and did not stop me, so I supposed they weren't meant for anybody else," she said. "No, no, I adore chocolate. I'm just trying not to gobble all of it. They are meant for your highness." Taking a larger bite, thankful that she wasn't an interruption, she frowned at his question. "I tried to learn, but I was horrid at it. I'm an archer, actually."
Edmund laughed a bit, " But they will still be hidden...on my stomach now," He winked at her and got another chocolote. It was kinda scary how compulsive about food Edmund was. He was eating the chocolate not even chewing them well. Also, when eating, Edmund sometimes forgets the good manners and starts to speak with the mouth full.
"Well, then I'll do it. If you stay eating the way you are, you are going to eat just one," He laughed putting two pieces on his mouth, "By jove, this is so, so good!" He said with his mouth full.
Edmund chewed the piece of chocolate he had on his mouth and swallowed, "An archer? It is funny how women do prefer the bow than the sword."
"Oh, okay, perhaps I exaggerated a little. They were kept inconspicuously to the side," she mended, a smile on her face, glad the the King liked her little gift. Smiling at the offer, she timidly took a piece of chocolate, nibbling on the ends of it, eating like a fair mannered maiden should. "I hope I am not pulling you away from an important duel," she said, wondering if her timing was the absolute worst in the world or not.
"Inconspicuously to the side?" Edmund said, frowning a bit. "What a new way to say they were hidden," He let a little smile cross his face.
While Euphémie was slowly eating her chocolate, Edmund was putting them all on the mouth and barely was chewing. He noted the girl action, "Don't you like, chocolate? Oh? No, I not even started," Edmund turned his head to the tent where the trainers were. They seemed busy listening to a story one of them was telling. He turned his head to Euphémie again, "Do you know how to fight? With a sword, I mean," He said lifting his own sword.
Emie was nervous, standing by the training fields; perhaps it was because she was not only watching a King but the best swordsman in Narnia spar. This was a bad idea; who did she think she was walking up to the king to talk. He had better things to do surely. But it was too late now as all of them walked towards her, and not wanting to seem a coward, she smiled, offering the box of chocolate. "I found these hidden away in the kitchen, and remembered you had a fondness for them, Your Majesty."
With the early winter and all the rain which was affecting the area, the King had been in the indoors more than he wanted. But today the sun shone and Edmund didn't waste the opportunity on going to the training fields with his sword on one hand and a smile on the face.
His sword was reflecting the light of the sun and it also reflected a strange orange tone. Edmund looked around and discovered he wasn't the only one who decided to spend the day on the outside. He had never seen her before but her hair caught the King's attention because of the intensity of the color.
She was Euphémie, the girl from the Lone Islands whom Edmund met not long ago. He smiled back at her and moved his gaze to the chocolate. Chocolate was now his favorite sweet. He grabbed the box and smiled at her once more, "Oh, you didn't need to, really! But you said hidden? Maybe they were for someone else?" Edmund moved his dark gaze to the chocolate again and smirked, "But you know, finders keep, losers weep," He said taking one chocolate from the box and ate it in one bite. He stretched the box to the girl, "Do you want some?"
Euphemie and Alyssa
The winter blast had threatened everyone who dared venture outside. The weather forced people to flock indoors. Some sought refuge in Cair. The wicked winds howled around the corridors of Cair causing a haunting vibe to rise. It took her back to her first big mis-adventure.
There she stood a young child nearly ten before a creepy old mansion. The wind howling as it engulfed the house like a hungry lion. Looking back she could see her siblings following her timidly. She couldn't remember what drove her forward into the Mile's house but she remembered clearly the events that followed. She and her siblings had entered a fight for their lives that had nearly turned fatal. Flickering the memory extinguished like the light of a candle that had been blown out.
Coming out of her flashback the Jedi princess sighed and ran a hand through her golden brown curls and she began looking for someone she could help or even converse with. Her blue eyes cast their gaze around lonesome hall. Taking a left she became excited as a feeling similar to that of static electricity ran up and down her arms.
She was sure that the force was indicating that she wasn't alone. So, sneaking her head around the corner AJ let her eyes fix on the strange girl. She seemed to be alone and so as always the friendly Jedi slowly approached her with a soft "Hello there. Are you okay?"
