BOULTON: You know how I ran an operation on him a few months back? CONWAY: Yeah. And how much of a cock-up it was. BOULTON: That’s only ‘cause Rod Skase got his warrant card out instead of his wallet.
CONWAY: What are they going to say when a chief inspector tries to buy cocaine? BOULTON: It’s probably not unheard of, is it, sir? CONWAY: At my age? BOULTON: You could say that you needed it for medicinal reasons. CONWAY: What? BOULTON: You know, you need it to get you going a bit, like an aphrodisiac. CONWAY: Look, in case you hadn’t heard, there’s a new drug on the market that does that. BOULTON: It brings you out in a rash.
A very ginger episode. And a Derek focus episode right after the Andrew one, hurrah. Pairing him with John actually works remarkably well and the one-off character of Geraldine (Eva Pope) is fantastic too.
I’m rewatching waterloo road and am having so many feelings. the whole eddie/rachel storyline has mended my broken little heart, I cried my eyes out when they broke up, and I have loved falling in love with rachel all over again
but honestly?? her storyline with adam just seems wrong. maybe it’s because I’m still adamant after all these years that she should’ve ended up with eddie, but?? he’s literally been in it for like 4/5 episodes and she’s already agreeing to marry him? just seems completely ooc
oh my god I’ve just found out that Rachel Mason (Waterloo road) was a SCIENCE TEACHER.
On the school sign it says Rachel Mason BSc (Hons) which stands for Bachelor of science!!
I always thought she’d have been an English teacher wtaf
“Could you put that down…that was not for you!”
I’m sure I had loads of ships over the years before I knew what the term “shipping” was. But Rachel and Eddie from Waterloo Road are definitely who I can officially call my “first ship” - and I still ship them now, over 10 years on. This entire scene from Series 4 Episode 14 is definitely my favourite scene between Rachel and Eddie and then with Philip and Bolton too.
Rachel really never ever turned off head teacher mode, especially looking after her nephew Philip when her sister ran off. And I just love her nit-picking, it’s so Rachel. Worrying about every little thing. I mean I’d be worried letting some of Waterloo Road’s finest into my house. And then assigning sole responsibility on Bolton, whom looks up to Rachel more than any other student. He just knows the trouble he’d be in if the house was left to ruin. I definitely think he had a secret crush on Rachel.
Eddie wanted Rachel as Rachel for the night, not Miss Mason or Auntie Rachel, just Rachel. And we rarely saw that.
Their relationship was doomed from the off, I mean if your ship does actually get together in canon, when does it ever end well? Too many complications. I’m so glad they got some time together. I just hate Melissa more and more for ruining what could have been the most perfect relationship. Eddie adored Rachel, Rachel adored Eddie. It just got extremely complicated. And there was no way that it would have worked.
