Road traffic presses on during the evening rush hour on the outskirts of Taunton, apparently heedless of the magnificent double rainbow in the heavy, but patchy rain - taken last Friday evening as I was on my way to see the Mayflower vintage steam railtour passing through Norton Fitzwarren. I can't help wondering how many people were just too busy getting on with there lives to notice - indeed, it says something about the modern world and its mentality that we so easily miss such fleeting finer things. If you're seeing this post and were in the Taunton area on Friday, did you notice the rainbow?
Hopefully my work as a photographer might help to draw attention to the little details in the world around us that make such a difference to life, and the importance in creating such details when designing the places we are to live, work, and play in.
Commuters who listen to music or browse social media might be increasing their chance of a stressful workday. Research by Francesca Gino and colleagues offers better ways to cope with a bad commute.
It's almost light
I'm laying my head down
I try to smile
But I'm weighing myself down
I'm losing faith everyday that I'm runnin with you
I'm losing faith everyday
I will not go
I'll make it through the night
I will not go
I'll shine my brighter lights
If I walk with you
A life of second glances
I gave you hope
You buried your chances
Aren't you the one who said you bled for this?
No you're the one who left in the first place
How can you just stand there with a straight face telling me
You did the best that you could
I'm giving up on you
But I'm not giving up on me
Your horse is higher than a skyscraper
Your shadow is starting to fade
Giving up on you
But I'm not giving up on me
The evening commute is usually very busy, but if you wait till after the sun is down, the roads (and skies) are usually much clearer.
The Calm Before The Storm 🌥🏙 Another Nor’easter is heading our way but nevertheless I still had a really good day ☺️🤗 HAPPY HUMP DAY MY FANTABULOUS TUMBLR FRIENDS 😘✌🏽
The destination may change, but the journey goes on.
(at Puget Sound)
This evening's commute was a joy. I'm so happy to see the sun again.
