ᴡʜᴏ: DELILAH RIPLEY & KALEB RIPLEY ( @rebellicnrising ) ᴡʜᴇʀᴇ: SOMEBODY'S LAUNCH PARTY ᴡʜᴇɴ: MORNING OF THE (PROPER) LAUNCH

According to her parents, Delilah had thrown a tantrum when she was informed – at the ripe age of one, no less – that she would be getting a baby brother. Granted, she cannot remember this ever happening, and therefore is unable to verify the story's authenticity – but it certainly does sound like something she would have done. Having the spotlight ripped away from her and split in two would have certainly put a dampener on her little life – even if she now can no longer remember a life before her brother existed. It didn't matter in the end, anyway. She had barely needed to stretch herself in order to win back their parents' favour, to steal back her spotlight. And the rest, as they say, had been history.

She hears Kaleb before she sees him – a voice that, by virtue of their shared upbringing, she would recognise anywhere. She's not surprised to find him at such an event – it had been instilled in both of them, but Kaleb's love of the games had always far exceeded her own. He had built his entire life around it, after all. Her feet carry her towards the voice before she can think better of it – an insult already forming on the tip of her tongue. When was the last time she'd seen her brother, let alone spoken with him? It must have been before all of that unfortunate business with their mother ( yes, yes, she was terribly sad to hear the news ).

"H. Junior," She greets, shoving a few of her brother's contemporaries out of her way. She knew how greatly he loathed being referred to by their father's name, which is why she took great pleasure in calling him that. "Did you have any money on the games being postponed? Or on half the tributes being M.I.A?" She asks with a wicked grin. "Who's looking good to win this year? I like that awful one from District Ten... butcher, or whatever his name is." A pause, she drops her voice a little lower. "Has dad contacted you? You know... about funeral arrangements?"

who: Open Starter What: Hiding at the party Where: The stairs between The Pit & Casey and Noah’s apartment

Noah was pretty sure he’d been clear. At least he sure as hell thought he had been. A party? After spending time in jail, and being literally tormented by the psycho who seemed ready to oust all of their secrets while simultaneously driving them insane? It just didn’t seem right. But obviously that hadn’t stopped him from throwing together a surprise party that had him feeling like he was ready to hurl. He’d been told to dress up earlier in the day for his shift at The Pit, but even his costume was lack luster in comparison to some of the other things he saw when he walked in. It wasn’t like anyone who showed up was going to be there for him anyways, which made him wonder if he really even needed to be there at all. There was alcohol, dancing, costumes, everything that should mix together to make quite the cocktail of a party. His presence wasn’t going to make or break that. So after spending a few minutes making small talk with Ronnie, he’d made his way to the stairs and took a seat there instead where he made a point of pulling out his notebook. His fingers gripping the pen and only just started writing when he felt the shadow. “Bathrooms are around the corner. This isn’t the way you think...”

who: open  🌱   what: rory’s room of guts where: noah’s bday party!! 

There was a slight possibility Rory should have asked someone better at art to help her with this. Her block letter sign (and honestly the whole set up) looked a little bit like a fifth grade art project, but she’d put a ridiculous amount of time into it all. It had taken hours to finish all of the decorations and the “guts” and “gore” that were hidden in tubs beneath the portraits- peeling grapes? not easy or fun! But she’d managed to get the final touches on everything done just before the party was starting. From peeled grape eyeballs to cooked pasta and canned peaches for guts, it had actually come together. Half of the kitchen and most of her had ended up covered in sticky red corn syrup (which had been a bitch to clean up), but it was all done. And maybe it wasn’t perfect, but she’d definitely earned the drink she retrieved from the bar before taking up her post next to her creations. Now she just got to watch people (hopefully!!!) enjoy it.

“Do you daaare to dig around for a prize? Or are you just here for the company,” she joked.

∘₊✧── SHRIKE HEIGHTS EVENT; HALLOWEEN SPOOKTACULAR

celebrate halloween in shrike heights at our annual spooktacular !

join in on all of the halloween fun and fright this year at shrike heights commune ! each year since the founding of the town, the success of the fall festival has been followed closely by a night dedicated to the tricks and treats associated with the spooky and beloved fall holiday. families and children are encouraged to attend the event any time from 4 - 8:30 p.m., while many more events and activities will continue running until late for those of age. come dressed up in your grandest costumes and enter the competitions for your chance to win prizes ! the family friendly costume competition will be drawn at 8 p.m., the second being drawn at 11 p.m.

along with the competitions, celebrate halloween with our appropriately themed activities and attractions. get lost in the corn maze, go on a terrifying journey on our ghost train, get a fright in our haunted house, dance and sing along to live music performed by local shrike artists, eat your body weight in candy, get a spooky themed drink at julio’s pop up halloween bar, and so much more ! tickets are available upon arrival for those who did not purchase theirs at the fall fest, and we can assure you this is a night you do not want to miss !

ooc info - happy halloween ! this is one of the biggest shrike events of the year that typically most residents attend ( there’s something for everyone here, really ! ). event interactions may begin immediately, but please note - there will be a plot drop at the end of this event. us admins will be sending a participation call out for both the event ( attendance is mandatory for those put up for the plot drop ) and the costume competition ( more info on that will be found in the discord shortly ) asap. please feel free to ask us any questions about the event if you have them !

Lucinda had been having a wonderful day. She’d come out to Hogsmeade with her friends, fully kitted out in an artfully shredded wedding dress with fake blood smeared all over the top half of it and two puncture marks in her neck that she’d painstakingly made as lifelike as possible with makeup. She’d been going for the Bride of Dracula look but, having caught sight of herself in the window of Dervish & Banges, she now thought she looked more like something out of that exorcist film her sister had made her see a few years ago.

She was rounding off the day with a nice frothy Butterbeer when a sharp pain speared through her abdomen making her gasp. She plonked her glass down abruptly, sloshing amber liquid over the side as she gripped the edge of the heavy wooden table. The sharp pain came again and she gritted her teeth trying not to make a scene. When the third stabbing pain came it was too much and she stumbled to her feet.

Luce braced herself against a wooden beam in the Three Broomsticks, feeling violently queasy; her stomach was roiling and her vision blurring slightly at the edges as she had stood up. She felt awful. The vein in her temple had begun the slow thud thud thud of what was sure to be the migraine from hell and the pains just kept coming. She couldn’t think clearly enough to think back on what she’d had today to make her feel so sick aside from the few drinks she’d had in here.

“Oh my god.... it’s so painful,” she gasped, swaying on her feet.

“This is crap April!  I don’t even want top be here.  I’m in no mood to be here,” Lexi grumbled from her spot beside her friend.  She wanted to be sulking in her bed at home, crying, drinking, watching sad romcoms.  “This isn’t fair.  I should have been excused.  I don’t want to participate in team activities, and I swear he better not be anywhere near this lake or I’m going come.  Screw mandatory attendance.”

🌠 — um para mim e outro para a minha pseudo-amiga. — disse ao entregar o copo de bebida para @nikksmth​. fazia tempo desde que o homem não tinha uma conversa apropriada com a selecionada. a última vez fora há algumas semanas desde o dia em que tinha presenciado o ataque de pânico dela. e desde então temia que o clima ficasse estranho entre eles. Dick não estava acostumado a lidar com situações emocionais feito aquela. ou que lidavam com muito choro. — aqui tem álcool suficiente para você se soltar e se divertir. mas não ao ponto de deixar você bêbada ao ponto de fazer obscenidades com frutas. — comentou. nunca iria deixar a morena esquecer daquele momento tão cedo. era aquilo que os amigos faziam, correto? de qualquer maneira a amizade deles estava longe de ser convencional. — e você tem ideia de qual música que cantar? já vou avisando que meu espanhol é péssimo.
