2024 Captain America/Iron Man Tiny Reverse Bang
This summer, our Captain America/Iron Man Tiny Reverse Bang returns and in twenty days we'll start accepting submissions!
Artists can then send in traditional art, digital art, photographed craft work, moodboards, manips and fanvids that will inspire creators during the writing phase. We also invite podficcers and fanvidders to let themselves be inspired!
2024 Schedule:
Friday June 21st - Friday, July 12th: Work submission period. All submissions are due before the end of July 12th in the last time zone, and must be submitted to [email protected].
Friday, July 19th: Art posting and writing period begins. The challenge period will run until September.

Happy New Year, everyone! It’s January 1st somewhere in the world, which means that the 2021 Cap-IM Reverse Bang is now open for art submissions! Submissions will remain open until the end of February 10th.

The Cap-Iron Man Reverse Bang is a Steve/Tony fanwork fest where artists and fanvidders submit artwork and writers and podficcers create a 5K story based on the work that they claim. It's the chance for artists to inspire stories, and for writers to collaborate on a fic that has a visual prompt. This fest aims to encourage the creation of more wonderful fanworks for the Steve/Tony ship—but it's also a neat way to meet new people who share your passion for the ship in its various forms, and to have fun! Whether you're a seasoned artist who has participated in the Cap-IM Reverse Bang in the past, or an inspired newcomer who has just the right idea in mind, we want to see your version of Steve/Tony! Ready to join? Send in your entry by February 10th to participate in the Reverse Bang and have your fanwork claimed! Finally, if you need some ideas to get you going, check out our Prompt Post and the Inspiration Post tag on our cap_ironman Tumblr. You are also encouraged to drop off your own prompts! All submissions are due before the end of July 12th in the last time zone, and must be posted to our AO3 Collection and then submitted to [email protected].

2020 Cap-IM Holiday Exchange Announcement
Yes — the Cap-Iron Man Holiday Exchange has arrived!
The Cap-Iron Man Holiday Exchange is our annual fanwork exchange for Steve/Tony art and fic. Participants will be matched to one another to secretly create a Steve/Tony fanwork for another participant. Gifts may be fic (minimum 1000 words) or art (traditional or digital medium).
At the end of December the gifts will be revealed anonymously in batches, and then in early January the creators will be revealed!
Community Gifts are also back! Don’t miss out on some low pressure Steve/Tony fun this winter!

2020 Cap-IM Rec Week Announcement
The Annual Cap-Iron Man Rec Week is right around the corner, so it’s time to start getting your recommendations ready to share with the community!
For those new to Rec Week, each day of the week will have a post asking for fanwork recs based on a different theme. Recs can be for art, fic and other Steve/Tony (or Steve & Tony) fanworks of any kind, including meta. At the end of Rec Week we’ll create a giant masterlist of all the recs that were posted for everyone's reading and viewing enjoyment!
This year we are fitting our Rec Week themes to our nostalgic 2012 Fanwork Like it's 2012 Fest - recs can count towards fest fills if they fill a prompt!
2020 Rec Week Themes and Schedule
All New Monday, June 15th: Recently posted works that feel like they were created in 2012.
Tropey Tuesday, June 16th: "Team movie nights!" Come and rec works that have your favourite tropes.
What-If Wednesday, June 17th: Time to rec some AUs! Canon divergence, no-power alternate universes, soulmates… send them all in!
Tell-All Thursday, June 18th: Tell us about your highlights of 2012 or your favourite moments of canon, and share why you love Steve/Tony! Explainers welcome.
First Five Friday, June 19th: Share your firsts with us! The first 5 fanworks that made you fall in love with Steve/Tony, the first 5 people you subscribed to, the first 5 works that you created, the first 5 collabs you did with others, the first 5 anything!
Not-Fic Saturday, June 20th: A rec day highlighting fanworks like moodboards, manips, fanvids, podfics and artworks!
Cap-IM Sunday, June 21st: Rec all your favorite works created for a cap-ironman challenge!
There will be different ways to participate:
You can comment on the special daily posts that will go up on our Dreamwidth and Livejournal communities. (Anon commenting allows anyone to participate this way, even if you don’t have an account.)
Reply directly to each rec day's Tumblr post that will go up on our Cap-Iron Man Tumblr.
During rec week you can make a Tumblr post with your recommendations, mention @cap-ironman Tumblr and tag it with #capimrecweek within the first five tags on the post. Please include the day’s theme somewhere in the body of the post. On the dedicated day, we will reblog posts for the day’s theme on our community Tumblr.
So prepare your posts and keep an eye out for the first themed post on the 15th!

The 2020 Steve/Tony Tiny Reverse Bang is here!
TRB is a low commitment, midyear flashworks challenge organized by @cap-ironman. It runs like a quick version of our Reverse Bang, where artists create artwork and writers create fills inspired by the artworks.
This year's TRB themes are:
Space
Beginnings/Endings
Domesticity
How does it work?
Creators make a work inspired by one of the themes above and send them in. For the TRB, works can be traditional art, digital art, photographed craft work, moodboards, manips and fanvids.
Works are scheduled to post weekly and fanworkers are invited to create drabbles, ficlets, fic, podfic and fanvids based on the week's work(s).
After each week, all the fills created will be rounded up before the next week begins.
At the end of the challenge, all the works created will be rounded up and shared with the community!
