never ending ✩ haewon & ingyi
“What ar–” Before she could continue her question, she found herself being guided to face the other, her cheeks gently cupped in her friend’s palms. Such acts of intimacy were not foreign to her as the sister who had cared for her all her life used to do the same whenever she came to her crying in the middle of the night, complaining about bad dreams sent by “the devil hiding underneath the bed.” That wasn’t the case, of course, but the loving caresses on her face and the soft kiss on her forehead would usually result in a smile and a much peaceful sleep.
“I’m f-fine,” the words came tumbling out of her lips, careless and nervous. Though she knew there was no reason for her to feel that way, she couldn’t help but to, and it made her cheeks flush a deeper shade of red. She could feel the eyes of the other boring into her, perhaps trying to read her mind in search of unspoken words and confused feelings; because in all honesty, her thoughts were a jumbled mess, and the harder she tried to untangle them, the tighter they wound around each other. She wanted so badly to let Haewon know that she didn’t need any fussing over, but the words barely left her throat when she moved her hand to her forehead. Ingyi was practically burning!
And so, she simply nodded her head in response, her fingers slowly clutching onto the fabric of her jacket and easing it off her shoulders.
her gaze settle on the screen momentarily, even though her attention was somewhere else now. the film, and the steamy scenes on the screen were left forgotten for haewon– for in her opinion, watching ingyi’s flustered state was definitely more entertaining. but she doesn’t want to creep her companion out by shamelessly staring at her, thus why she pretended to divert her gaze.
it was awkward to say at least, watching the rated scenes with someone. that thought alone tainted her cheeks red, but she never let it get to her, because if it did, she’d probably end up just as flustered and awkward as ingyi.
and it was probably why she chose to tease the other shamelessly, in attempts to hide away her flustered cheek, and probably to lighten up the mood. “did it make a difference? do you still feel warm?” she asked, still with the same feign innocence as before, taking a peek at ingyi through the corner of her eyes, head craning ever so slightly. and her lips were quick to quirk into a smirk, evidently teasing.
