lantern - how did you meet your best friend? What were your first impressions of each other?

I have a few best friends but for the purpose of this exercise I’m going to tell the story of @floralfeast and I!

Back when I was a teeny blog wanting to make friends on this website, I followed Becks and after a couple of weeks noticed that she had the same name as me, and was the same age as me. Then she was talking about mbti and how she was an infj and I was like? Me too???

SO I messaged her like WE HAVE THE SAME NAME WE’RE THE SAME AGE AND THE SAME MBTI WOW! And she was like uh ok cool fine

Anyway I was really keen and messaged her about random stuff for a little while afterwards, all the while she probably thought I was vaguely annoying and weird, but eventually gave in and became my friend!

So for first impressions actually seeing each other in real life I went to visit her and her friend when they were in London after they went to see Hamlet and we hugged in Victoria station for like 10 minutes and then spent the day acting as if we had known each other forever UNTIL we decided to get a cocktail before I had to leave.

And we went to what has to be the most awkward bar in the entire world. It was the bottom floor of a fancy restaurant but we were the only people in the entire place so they were creepily attentive and spent like 15 minutes clearing our table while we were sat at it and the bathroom doors only had half a door? And it was really weird and awkward and we were like mostly silent because it was so uncomfortable being stared at! All in all it’s a wonder we’re actually friends because I think that sheer cringe of that evening would have put most people off!
