Arrows make it clear.
I’ve seen posts like these that were very confusing. Depending on the angle you look at them, you could think you’re pushing the button to cross the street in front of you or next to you. The arrows in the buttons in this picture make it clear which street you’re trying to cross. (and in case you miss the arrow, the sign also notes which street you’re trying to cross)
When bad UX gets you in trouble.
True story: my wife saw this sign and didn't notice the men sign on the other side. Thinking like an airport (or not thinking at all), she went left.
Without thinking part 2: she went into a stall (I can't explain how she managed to miss the urinals), used the restroom, and only freaked out when she was washing her hands and saw a guy peeing at an urinal.
I wonder if she's the only one to ever do that...
