The Week That Tried Me (But I’m Still Here)
Last week felt like a whole marathon disguised as seven days. From doctor’s appointments, parent-teacher meetings, juggling personal life, work life, and every unexpected moment in between. At this point, I feel like “chaos” is just part of my weekly schedule. Honestly? I’m not even complaining, this is the season I’m in. It’s busy, it’s demanding, it’s messy! Yet, it’s also full of moments that matter.
What I will say is this: Having a village makes all the difference. TRULY!!
Family, friends, neighbors, teachers, the people who show up in big or tiny ways… they help shape our kids just as much as we do. No one is meant to raise a child alone. No one is meant to carry everything by themselves.
So, if you’re in the thick of it like I am. Overwhelmed but still pushing through I hope you know that you’re not alone. You’re doing better than you think. If you do have a “village” know that it’s okay to lean on your village whenever you need to.
Here’s to another week, another try, and another reminder that support is strength, not weakness.
Hang in there!!!
“you feel like home” and somehow also like a lightning storm inside my ribcage, a cat made of moonlight kneading my heart, a song that forgets the words halfway through and still makes sense. i wish i’d met you sooner, back when we were both sticky little humans spilling cocoa on notebooks we never meant to finish, chasing clouds like they were guilty of something, whispering to pigeons that looked like tiny emperors in tiny hats. i want to have argued over which movie was obviously the Best Movie Ever and secretly adored how your nose scrunched when i won, how your laugh made the walls lean closer, like they wanted to listen too.
i want to have held your hand on mornings that smelled like rain, burnt toast, and impending chaos, sent you memes that made no sense but somehow fit, stolen cookies from your pocket while pretending not to notice the crumbs, danced barefoot in puddles while the clouds looked down and winked. i want to have been there for scraped knees and broken hearts, for the days when the world was too loud and we were the only sound that mattered, for quiet moments that smelled like vanilla and promise.
i want to have loved you through all the ordinary, glittering chaos, the messy little beautiful catastrophes, the sticky fingerprints of life smeared across every corner of it. i want you to be my first thought and my last thought, my hot chocolate spill, my crooked umbrella, my missing sock, my whispered secret to the moon, my everything, my forever.
