DSMP Age Card : Tiy’s Opinion

I’m honestly frustrated because ya’ll are always saying “Tommy and Tubbo are kids, they need someone to guide them”, but what about the other characters??? Not that I don’t agree, but... ...you do know that Fundy and Niki are barely young adults, and nearly everyone in the SMP are young adults too, right? Everyone needs therapy, not just the minors. You can’t use the age card for only the legal children, since the other people are young, have also gone through something and need help.  Tommy and Tubbo were forced into wars they didn’t know the shouldn’t have been in, Niki, Fundy and Jack Manifold were pushed around and betrayed, Techno was used, hell, even Dream was painted as the villain in the earlier days where he wasn’t really one yet. Some of these characters had support, some didn’t, but none of these characters should deserve or have to miss out on proper love and support when they should really have gotten it. Some of these were when Tommy was dealing with Wilbur, when Tubbo was dealing with Schlatt, when Techno was betrayed by the revolution, when Niki, Fundy and Jack were pushed to the side, when Dream was in the process of being painted as and becoming a villain. None of them had nearly enough support for what they were going through. We need a person who cares about everyone and is willing to hear their point of view, a person who doesn’t favour people based on their past experiences and bias against the ones painted as the ‘true villains’, give them a chance at actually proper love because they missed out on the support they should have had earlier, not because they’re a child or they want to appeal to them. I can see that we don’t really have a person like that right now, since everyone is biasing from one side to the other. - Tiy (one measly person from this joint account)

I’d like to say this much as a nearly-everyone apologist speaking up for the Dream apologists :

When we refer to Sam, we mean Warden Sam. I’m actually happy that at least Tommy gets some form of parental figure who takes care of him and protects him. Sam Nook is a very valid figure in our books. Warden Sam though? He’s been getting progressively more suspicious as we see each prison visit. Sam ‘s behaviour towards Dream and Dream’s behaviour towards Sam have become very questionable, since we don’t get to see either of their perspectives in these.

There are a lot of details I can go into, but in short we, as in the Dream apologists who actually take into detail good and bad things about Dream and have actual good reason for being one, are very suspicious and doubtful of Warden Sam, though we do not intend to pass it on to Sam Nook.

I myself, as just about an everyone apologist, think that Sam Nook is a good figure towards Tommy’s recovery from the trauma he went through, though I also wish to see the others getting physical and mental support too.

DSMP Tiy Rants : C!Dream Apologist Stereotypes

I get a teensy bit frustrated when certain people who don’t like C!Dream at all stereotype every one of us (C!Dream apologists*) into these people who simply brush off the fact that Dream did a lot of bad stuff for dumb reasons like bein ‘hot’, hate Tommy simply because he’s ‘annoying’ and want him out of the prison because he ‘didn’t do anything wrong’.

Most of us are usually not like that, and some of the people who say so are usually joking, since it’s a joke on Twitter, which sorta riles people up and makes them pretty frustrated. If there are people who genuinely brush off the fact that he did bad shit and fit the stereotype, then I dunno who they are, cause that’s quite ever so weirdchamp, but go off. It’s an MC RP, you can treat it quite seriously if you want, but shouldn’t to that extent, at least I think.

We are apologists of C!Dream not only because we like his lines and him being a villain, but because we like to think from far back in the SMP’s timeline and think of the reasons why he became the villain. We like to theorize why and how, ya know? He’s a villain to just about nearly everyone in the SMP, but when, why and how did that start and happen? Was the way he became a villain explainable? That’s your opinion, but we collectively agree on our own things based off of what happened in the earlier times and the first and second major wars.

Does being a C!Dream apologist mean we all want him to run away from his punishment? Most of us wouldn’t say so. Does that mean we want him in the prison and to be treated on an inhumane way? Depends. Some would say yes, some would say no. But I think we can agree that the way Dream’s been treated, which to us has been hinted to be getting worse through each prison visit, should not be like so. He should get punishment, but not in such an inhumane place and way.

Basically, most of us aren’t the stereotypes a lot think us to be, and if we say so we’re usually joking, but I’d rather avoid the ones who seriously are. We have our reasons to like a character that has done a lot of bad and fucked up shit, as do you with your character who more likely than not has done something or somethings on a lesser scale but still fucked up nonetheless. Most of us want him to get punishment, but not on such an inhumane place and way.

DSMP ‘Apologist’ Controversy : Tiy’s Opinion

//This is directed towards the DSMP community. It is also a long rant about my opinion of the controversies in there. First controversy : ‘What are apologists, really?’.

I feel like a lot of people are being slight hypocrites on this matter. We are mostly a bit more settled now, but I’ll say that usually, but not all of you, are an apologist of a character, and also dislike a character for what they have done to your favourite character. I’m gonna say, for the sake of this argument, that you call yourself an apologist of a character who has been subjected to bad stuff, but also has done quite a lot of wrong things, but dislike the apologists of the character you hate because “they are condoning literal manipulation, and just looking past it”. Do you see the problem here? If you’re saying that the word ‘apologist’ is condoning everything a person/character does, but call yourself an apologist for an arguably grey character, then you’re being a hypocrite. If you’re saying this as an apologist of a character who’s done just about nothing that would be bad IRL, which is very unlikely, then you’re still valid enough to say that. A lot of us would never condone what bad things a character does IRL, so please stop stereotyping different apologists. You shouldn’t stereotype people a lot, especially in these matters. It’s not exactly okay, and sometimes is a bit hurtful, so please don’t stereotype people unless it’s in an obviously joking manner. Some people might take it a bit too seriously of you don’t indicate it’s supposed to be a joke. I mean, it’s alright to have your own definition, but do not force your opinion on others. Above, I’m only applying this to the people who are being hypocrites on this matter. If you’re not an apologist of any character and believe that it means to condone their actions entirely, then you’re in a good zone. - Tiy (one measly person from the joint account)
