I really miss your FenHawke!
*hearts* thank you, anon! if it’s any consolation, i’ve missed the heck out of them too. there’s currently a fic off at beta that I hope to have back by the end of the month–I’m anticipating eight chapters and an epilogue, so even if it’s not as meaty as some of the others, hopefully it’ll scratch that itch?
in the meantime, have a prologue-of-sorts i’ve whipped up for you, if you’re the kind of person to like a little teaser.

Fenris,
I’m sorry. There aren’t words for how sorry I am. I never wanted to send this letter, but it has to be me who tells you, because it was me who brought Hawke here in the first place. I know you didn’t want to have anything to do with the Inquisition. I know you said Hawke carried too much of other people’s guilt on her shoulders already, that she’d spent ten years bearing an entire city’s burdens in Kirkwall and should finally be allowed to rest.
I know. I know, and it’s my fault.
Fenris. Hawke is dead.
She fell into the Fade at Adamant. A wall collapsed during the siege, and it dropped her into an open breach. She fell and, along with the Inquisitor and a few others, she ended up standing body and mind in the Fade itself.
I don’t know exactly what happened while they were there. Lady Trevelyan can barely speak of it. I know there were voices that whispered about their deepest fears; I know there were spirits, good and evil, who came and spoke to them; I know she and Hawke talked a good bit about the Wardens and about you.
I know in the end, a horrible spider-like creature the size of a high dragon stood between them all and the last breach they could find, and Hawke volunteered to stay behind to distract it.
The breach closed as soon as they came through without her. Lady Trevelyan said she looked back at the last minute, and she saw Hawke standing there with her staff at the Nightmare’s feet, staring up at it. She was covered in fire, brilliant as a sun, and she was laughing.
She said that Hawke said to tell you, and me, that she’s sorry.
Fenris, I’m sorry. I’m sorry. This is my fault. I should have left you and Hawke alone in that house. I should have stopped answering her letters as soon as I felt her tone changing.
Hawke left some things here at Skyhold before she…before we went to Adamant. I’m enclosing them here for you. It’s two of her journals, her clothes, the vignette of you she kept in the wood case, and her satchel with her potion things. The Inquisition courier who brings them to you has already been paid for the utmost speed and security. She knows what she carries.
I should have listened to you when you hinted this would drive Hawke to the Inquisition. You were right and I was wrong. And now Hawke’s paid the last price for it.
I know this is my fault. I know there’s not a single damned thing I can say that can ever undo this colossal mistake, and I’ll carry that with me for the rest of my life.
I’ll answer whatever I can, if you can bear to write to me.
Yours, in grief,
Varric

Varric.
I have nearly burned your letter four times. I knew Hawke was dead before it came to me and I still wished to tear the heart out of you when I read it. I felt her die. And I have dreamed of her dying in what must be the Fade in the shadow of this creature you describe for a month now with no changes.
Except. Last night.
She lived last night in my dream. A voice I did not know called my name and I followed it. And there was Hawke at the end of the same path where she has been dead and wrapped in white threads since I began the dreaming, but this time when I came to her she looked up at me and she saw me. She was alive.
Then I was pulled backwards along the path by a force I could not control until I stood before a great mirror with a gold frame. The voice told me there were a few windows left that might still open but I would need to find someone to work the key.
Varric. I am coming to Skyhold. I do not care if you believe me or not. But tell your Inquisitor that I am coming and I intend to demand all aid that she can provide. I do not know if these dreams are real but I know that to wait here and do nothing would kill what is left of me.
Ready your weapons. I am coming to Skyhold.
Fenris.
👻 ;; hey I just want to take a second and remind everyone (including myself) than fandoms are supposed to be fun. if you're stressing yourself out and getting upset and not having fun because of people you don't know and characters that aren't real, then you're probably doing it wrong.
been depressed but then I saw this wild rabbit under my crabapple tree so it's all good now
guess who's once again mentally stable 👍

One Word Album Review: Violent Soho’s ‘Everything Is A-OK’
Aw yes, the album review: A 300-500 word write-up explaining all the eccentricities pretentious wordsmiths love and hate about a band’s new album. While most reviews tend to hover the line between a positive and negative analysis, we’ve found that some seem to deviate from the pack choosing to spend their time putting an artist down for months of hard work.
We, on the other hand, would rather give the power back to the artist by letting them take a stab at reviewing (or simply explaining) their new music. And in order to make that process as easy (and fun) as possible, we’ve decided to give the artists one word and one word only to describe each song off their new release – thus creating the One Word Album Review.
Featured on today’s OWAR is Violent Soho’s long-awaited follow-up to 2016′s WACO. Picking up right where they left off with raucous grunge-infused tracks like “Vacation Forever” and “Lying On The Floor,” Everything Is A-OK is more than just a perfect quarantine soundtrack -- it’s a frontrunner for album of the year.
Now, before we turn this too much into our own review, we’re going to pass things over to the band as they carefully chose 10 words and GIFs to describe each track off Everything Is A-OK. To check out what Violent Soho picked, be sure to look below. Afterward, make sure to pick up a copy of the band’s brilliant new album here.
