(Bear with me this one's kinda out there XD)

AU idea where everything is the same except Bruce is Harlequin and Harley is Bat...girl? Woman? Person? Whatever. Okay so...

Harley's relationship with Joker:

Harley, in canon, is not crazy and is not evil to begin with. She's corrupted by her love for Joker and goes all out with her role. In this AU, Harley doesn't meet Joker until after she becomes a vigilante. She's, instead, overtaken by a need to help the mentally ill in any way possible. Meaning doing anything from shooting them with darts with meds, to talking to them, to even forcibly sending them to Arkham. She occasionally gets intel from a mysterious man as to the whereabouts of villains.

When Harley meets Joker, she deduces that he is frustrated and lonely, so she talks with him. It turns out he's been in love with his sidekick, Harlequin, for a few years now and the guy just won't get the hint. So Harley decides to help Joker for the greater good of Gotham.

Little does she know, the mysterious man who gives her intel is actually Bruce.

Joker's relationship with Bruce:

In this AU, Bruce never becomes a martial artist. Rather, he goes into espionage. He gets as close as possible to any and all villains all over the world, discovers their weakness, and uses it against them.

His latest target is Joker, who lives in Gotham, where a female hero currently resides. He becomes Joker's number 2 and tries to find weaknesses. But he seems to have none. It becomes longer and longer and he finds himself actually enjoying his company...when he's not blowing something up.

Bruce's relationship with Harley:

Harley eventually figures out that Bruce, Joker's right hand man, is the one ratting out his whereabouts and she doesn't know if she should tell Joker. She soon realizes that he may have feelings for Joker as his descriptions become more and more intimate and descriptive and less serious.

Oh these crazy kids, I tell ya! XD
