Controlled Chapter 5

Notes: I still don't have splat 3 sadly :(. Also yeah i'm updating finally i’ve been stuck on how to continue this. However i have unlocked inner agent 3 so that's fun. also 5-F-3-R is Agent 4, if you've forgotten. Sorry if this seems rushed, it actually was i felt like i needed to get some sort of writing out.

Failed subjects were surrounding 5-F-3-R. Half pure, half disgusting and covered in germs. Others were just freakish bugs, or sea cucumbers that couldn't speak like that train conductor. They were all trying to escape, like those pathetic creatures called Inklings and Octolings.

A dagger... God, did it feel different to hold one after being trained with guns. Instructions kept reign in her head, “The blade is sharper than most, don’t touch it. Bring it down like a roller.” Simple enough instructions, easier to understand than–

A buzzing filled 5-F-3-R’s head, stopping her train of thought. “Stop imagining things, 5-F-3-R. This has always been your life. Summon a weapon now, we wouldn’t want to waste the deal we made with the bear.”

5-F-3-R did so almost immediately, face numb as a kensa splattershot was dropped into her hands. When she realized she was unable to summon those neon-ish weapons anymore, the voice made the deal with the bear. In exchange for weapons being transported, 5-F-3-R would give it the inklings and octolings she had caught as prisoners. 

She almost had a reaction to seeing an inkling lying on the floor the first time, mauled and lifeless, but the voice shut it down. That happened to all the inklings. Nothing was known of the octolings.

“5-F-3-R, your thoughts are wandering. Remember, you are no longer an individual, you are part of me.” The voice was right. 5-F-3-R wasn’t like the inklings, octolings, or even the salmonids. She wasn’t her own person, she wasn’t alive. She was one in an army of superior beings, ones who knew what was good and what wasn’t.

“5-F-3-R, go to Octo Canyon.” The voice was robotic, as usual. “The bear needs more octolings.”

Octo Canyon. The name sounded familiar. That made no sense, 5-F-3-R had always been 5-F-3-R, there was nothing before that. She was a pure inkling, saved from the impure mess that was “inkopolis”. 

She shifted into her squid form, pressing into the floor, and launching into the sky. When the ground approached, prepared for her to splat against it, she switched to humanoid, catching herself on her feet. 

The whistles of nearby kettles was annoying, but it reminded her of home? No, home was the bunkers. Home was with the voice. Not octo canyon.

“Agent 4!” 

Nobody was near. She was not agent 4, she was 5-F-3-R, she was needed. The voice was fond of her, the voice liked her, the voice trusted her. The voice helped her when no one else would.

“Fondue this fool!”

Stupid new voice. 5-F-3-R just needed to get more octolings, and then leave. The kettle to her left would do, it seemed.

“That’s it, Agent 4! Show no mercy!”

5-F-3-R smacked herself in the air. That seemed to work to silence the new voice. “Why did you smack yourself, 5-F-3-R?” The good voice was back. It sounded upset.

Before she could answer, a yell startled her. “AGENT 4, STAND DOWN!” it was the new voice, once more. But not inside her head.
