Thinking about an evil Jaskier.
After the mountain, Jaskier loses his mind a bit. He has been shoved underfoot and generally abused from countless people throughout his life. Unloved. His parents. His classmates. His teachers. His peers. Geralt. Treated like dirt. His teachers were out to sabotage his education and achievements, they constantly were trying to take away points of his miniscule mistakes. He was constantly going to them and demanding it be corrected. One teacher got on his nerves so much about this for too long that he killed them. His classmates (namely one Valdo Marx) were constantly trying to trip him up, destroy his work, and spread awful rumors that would get him in trouble. Geralt treated him like shit but he bore it because he loved him. And then Geralt blamed him for all the things wrong in his life, in recent history. And Jaskier was already a bit mentally unstable before. He got off to pain, others' and his own. He liked hurting people, picking fights and brawls. He had no qualms about killing people when he had to. And then he hears that Nilfgaard wanted Ciri, Geralt's child surprise. A thing he had been blamed for. Jaskier wanted to finally do right by Geralt, by at least one thing. Get rid of the child surprise. So he went to Nilfgaard of his own volition and told them everything they wanted to know that he knew about. He joined them of his own free will. He got worse. He enjoyed torturing people and prisoners. He went out on missions, pillage, burn, and conquer. He gathered information. He was a perfect soldier, a perfect machine for the empire. He went a little mad, his love for Geralt drove him to do anything it took to right his "wrongs", to make it up to Geralt.
He's too far gone to be convinced otherwise. Too far gone to be saved. And with the child within reach, he faces Geralt once more.
Screw it
I want evil Jaskier, and I don’t mean like agnsty and edgy. I mean evil. I mean villain Jaskier.
Give this man a villain ark.
jaskier would be such a charming villain because he would absolutely flirt with geralt, pet puppies and casually commit crimes against humanity in one evening
I've been struck by an absolutely, genuinely, cursed idea:
What if Fae!Jaskier was evil? And I don’t mean he used to be evil, and is repenting, or is being controlled by someone evil, or made a mistake and accidentally did something bad,,,, I mean genuinely, deliberately, evil. I'm shitty at writing but this could be angsty as hell.
Something real bad happens, all seems lost for the gang, Yennefer and Ciri have been taken, Geralt can't find his Witcher family, it's just him and Jaskier left, desperate to save their friends.
As a last ditch effort, they come up with a complicated and likely doomed-to-fail plan, involving Geralt telling Fae!Jaskier his true name.
So he agrees, Jaskier asks him if he's sure, because this can't be reversed. I can't unknown your name, from the moment you tell me I will own you and it's a gift I can not return. Are you sure you trust me with this?
More of The Sin Eater posted here!
