Now with a cloak to walk around in public and some basic disguise(borrowed make up from Cinder and Emerald) stuff to hide the Grimmness, also a personal Manticore to carry Oscar to places or to make a quick escape.
Some one sided Rose Garden yeet
And Oscar meets Murder Daughter and forms a contract after witnessing her killing someone to replenish her mana.
Villain Oscar only has 4 moods; Destroying the world, Hating Ozpin, Accidentally forming meaningful relationships with the other villains (except Salem, she can choke), and finally, “I MISS MY AUNT SO MUCH”
- Qrow punching him, _wby going against him, being treated like he was some vessel for Ozpin already hurt him enough, but it happening again? He just grew tired of it.
- so he left. He got a new outfit, and he was even planning to just leave Argus. Ozpin was gone, qrwbyjnr hated him, and no one thinks Salem can be defeated anymore, so why stay?
- Unfortunately for him, he was found by jnr and practically dragged back to the Cotta-Arc house.
- Jaune tried apologizing to Oscar for what he did but the boy just looked him dead in the eye and said “yeah, sure. Whatever.”
- jaune and everyone else were stunned
- When Jaune introduced his “let’s steal a fucking airship” idea, Oscar told him that it was “the dumbest thing you’ve ever said and you have said many idiotic things.”
- it wasn’t in a playful tone either. It was cold and almost cruel.
- throughout the whole stealing an airship plan, Oscar was as negative as possible, more negative than Qrow actually.
- once they actually made it to Atlas, Oscar got even MORE negative when they got arrested by the Ace-Ops.
- When they all met Ironwood, Oscar realized quickly what he was trying to do. He didn’t care about Oscar, he cared about Ozpin. All this sparring and being nice was just a trick.
- Oscar got pissed.
- rwbyjnor decided to visit Mantle one day. Oscar wandered off. You wanna know who he found? Tyrian Callows and Arthur Watts.
- The two were watching the warehouse where Robyn would be celebrating with her followers if she were to win the election.
- Tyrian and Watts quickly recognized Oscar and pointed weapons at him. Oscar put on a smug-ass smirk and then made a deal with them.
- He hated Oz and rwbyjnr and so did Salem and her people, why not destroy them together?
- So, Oscar started disappearing more often. He’d train with Tyrian and help plan with Watts.
- When Oscar was at Atlas Academy, he’d spar with the others in his free time. He would get aggressive and way too competitive.
- Once all of rwbyjnor went out on election night, Oscar went with Jaune and Weiss to the movies, but that was just a cover for him so no one would be suspicious of him.
- Jaune and Weiss actually thought Oscar was warming up to them again too.
- At the Schnee Manor, Oscar noticed something. He noticed this waitress who was texting on her scroll, and she was hiding in corners and empty hallways to do it.
- he would have ignored it if he didn’t spot her taking pictures of qrwbyjnor as well.
- so when she sneaked off, he followed.
- Oscar followed this waitress and he ended up back at Atlas Academy. The girl had went into a seemingly empty random room.
- she then changed right before his eyes. Her hair changed, her clothes changed, her eyes changed. It was Neopolitan.
- He had heard about her from rwby. He got curious and pulled up a file about her. She was good, he’ll give her that. Her semblance and skills were incredible. She had never been caught or arrested, there were only pictures of her from shitty cameras. But he still recognized her.
- And to Oscar’s surprise, Cinder was there too.
- it was believed she was dead. Guess not.
- Halfway into Neo and Cinder’s conversation, Oscar interrupted.
- “Ahem,” he announced his presence. They twirled around, pulling out weapons and pointing them at him. “Hi to you too.”
- “You’re the farm boy, the next Oz,” grumbled Cinder, spite in her voice. The ends of her lips curved into a sinister grin.
- Oscar remarked, “Wow, you have eyes.” He placed a hand on his hips, and he gestured to her eyepatch with the other. He smiled and gave an eerie laugh. “Well, an eye, I suppose.”
- Cinder’s nose scrunched up at that. She growled and her grip on her sword tightened. “Why are you here?”
- “To help you.”
- “Help me?” Cinder repeated it, doubt painting her face. “Do you think I’m that stupid?”
- “Are you sure you want me to answer that?” Oscar smiled when anger and fury returned to her face. He chuckled, “No. I do want to help, it’s the truth. I’m alone, if that’s what you’re so worried about.”
- Neo and Cinder exchanged a look of uncertainty. The Fall Maiden nodded at Neo. Neo walked towards the door behind Oscar, keeping an eye on him the whole time. She then opened the door and peered into the hallway. Completely empty.
- Neo entered the room again. She shook her head at Cinder and remained behind Oscar. She held onto her umbrella, still ready to fight if anything went south.
- “So you want to help, kid?” Cinder inquired, lowering her sword and relaxing her shoulders a bit. “If you haven’t notice, you’re not exactly fighting material, even with the old man in your head.”
- Oscar ignored the mention of the wizard. “I don’t need to fight in order to be useful. Who do you think helped plan that massacre with—” he put on a mocking voice, waving his hands around a bit— “the Protector of Mantle?” He laughed between the words.
- “That was you? No way, you don’t have the technological skill or fighting skill to plan any of that.”
- “Well, I had some help. You may know them; Tyrian and Arthur?”
- Oscar watched the realization in Cinder’s face. She muttered, “Those idiots aren’t supposed to be here.”
- “Yeah, well, they are.” Oscar took a few steps forward, making Neo and Cinder get defensive again and point their weapons. He raised his hands up to show he meant no harm. “I don’t like team RWBY and their friends, and neither do you. So, do we have a deal?”
- He extended his hand out to the woman. She stared at him. She then asked, “What about Ozpin? What does he think of all this? Is he putting you up to this?”
- Oscar snarled. “That imbecile controls none of my actions. He sealed himself away in the back of my head, and he can stay there as long as he wants.”
- “So he’s not speaking to you?” the Maiden asked.
- “Nope,” Oscar simply confirmed.
- “Alright, kid. Tell me, what can you bring to the table?”
- Oscar grinned widely.
- And so they partnered up. Oscar tweaked a bit of Cinder’s plan and told her how freaking out James would probably be the best thing they could do. That’s why Cinder placed a glass version of the black queen chess piece in Ironwood’s office.
- Oscar told Neo to attack him and JNR and steal the relic, so it would look like Oscar had nothing to do with it.
- And the thing was; it worked out so well. Ironwood was panicking, and thanks to Watts, seeing Salem made him worse. Neo got the relic. Team RWBY and JNR and Qrow were all separated.
- Oscar then left JNR while they were being attacked by Atlesian guards. He went down to the vault.
- “And whom do I have the pleasure of speaking with?”
- “Still me,” Oscar snarled. Of course, James thought Ozpin was speaking. He was all he cared about whenever they interacted.
- James said, “It was smart not bringing the lamp down here. I wouldn’t trust me either.” He narrowed his eyes at the boy in front of him. “I assume it’s with your teammates?”
- Oscar chuckled, “No.”
- “No?” the General spoke the word. “What does that mean?”
- “Team RWBY and JNR shouldn’t be trusting me either.” He looked to the ground for a moment, a frown on his face. He then looked up, his mischievous smile returning.
- James’ eyes widened. “You’re working with her?”
- “No, I’m just helping out her people here and there,” Oscar responded. “I don’t think she knows.”
- “You realize this whole war started because she’s after Oz, don’t you? She will kill you.”
- “I’m not incompetent, James. I know that,” answered Oscar. He rolled his eyes a bit. “I want nothing to do with Oz or Salem. I never wanted this. And yet you people take it out on me and act like I’m just another Oz and that’s it. I’m sick of it.”
- “That’s what this is about?” Ironwood almost scoffed. “Look, I don’t know what happened to you after you all found out the truth about Ozpin, but helping Salem—”
- Oscar announced, loud and clear for the General, “Qrow punched me. Did he tell you that? Jaune pinned me against a wall. Yang, Blake, and Weiss yelled at me. Ruby did nothing to stop it. Then they just pretended it never happened. When we got here, they acted all nice and kind towards me. Didn’t apologize, they just thought a few nice deeds would undo what they did to me.”
- Ironwood stayed silent as Oscar spoke. He did look a bit shocked and concerned.
- “When Ruby lied to you, they didn’t care. Ozpin lied to us all and because I’m associated with him, I was their punching bag. I wasn’t even treated like I was my own person. All they saw was Oz.”
- After some more bickering, Ironwood backed Oscar into a corner.
- “Come on, you’re just a coward. Just like Leo, just like Oz, just like everyone else! Face it, James,” Oscar taunted.
- “James is what my friends call me. To you, it’s General.”
- Ozpin came back while Oscar was falling. With the help of Long Memory and some magic, Oscar landed in Mantle safely.
- “Now you return?” Oscar griped.
- “You were in danger.”
- “Yeah, I was also helping criminals and— oh. Oh.” Oscar laughed, anger hidden behind the chuckles. “You only came back now because it would take too long to return back here, right? You don’t care about me, you only care about yourself.”
- “Oscar, that’s not—”
- “Don’t. I don’t want to hear it.”
- and now here Oscar was, in the middle of nowhere with a voice in his head. Will he continue to aid in Salem’s plans, or will he get a redemption arc? Who knows
Sorry, this was long! I kinda got carried away and turned half of this into a fic. Evil Oscar is just so much fun to write!
- Before everything went down, Ironwood had noticed how distant Oscar was from everyone. He had assumed that it was because Oscar was the youngest and least experienced.
- he tried bonding with Oscar, but he had only irritated Oscar even more. James had offered him hot chocolate often because Oz liked it, he asked him questions only Oz knew, etc.
- Oscar pretended to be friends with James instead of snapping no matter how badly he wanted to.
- Oscar’s new parents are Tyrian and Arthur. His new siblings are Cinder and Neo (and probably Emerald and Mercury if he meets them).
- Tyrian and Watts actually got so close to Oscar that they started treating him like a son.
- Oscar doesn’t like Long Memory because it’s a constant reminder of Ozpin, so Tyrian is teaching him how to use scimitar curved swords.
- Oscar knows sign language and Neo was so excited when she found out. They talk shit about Cinder right in front of her.
- Everyone has been concerned for Oscar. He isolates himself from the group, is barely around, and he seems to have stopped taking care of himself.
- Oscar either ignores qrwbyjnr or has an attitude when talking to them. He even picks fights and throws insults at the group.
- Oscar is very much visibly tired. He has dark circles under his eyes and he stays up in the middle of the night. Sometimes he just stares at the wall or ceiling while in bed.
- His teammates have noticed Oscar’s obvious weight loss. Ren starts cooking and baking food for Oscar and he leaves it with him. Ren, Jaune, and Nora come back to find the plate still there. Sometimes Oscar only takes a few bites and other times he just throws it in the trash can for them to see.
- After Qrow punched him into a tree and Jaune pinned him against a wall, bruises have formed on Oscar’s face and back. He refuses to let Jaune heal him because he doesn’t trust Jaune anymore and he wants the people who caused those bruises to look at it and feel bad.
- Oscar is what he calls the “third party”. He’s not with qrwbyjnr, but he’s not with Salem either. He’s playing both sides, making both sides think he’s loyal to them, but his only loyalty is to himself and only himself.
- After meeting Cinder and Neo, Oscar returned back to the Schnee Manor fast enough to find Jacques Schnee being interrogated by Ironwood, the council, Robyn, and Winter. Rwbyjnor were called into the dining room and later ordered to go to Mantle when grimm began to attack.
- Oscar stayed behind and he was planning on telling James everything about Oz, so he could get James on the path of paranoia and fear. but then he bumped into Ruby and she agreed that they should tell him. This only helped his plan. Ruby obviously still trusted him and now no one would question why Oscar told Ironwood everything.
- Oscar is scared of Salem. He wants nothing to do with her, he only worked with her people to mess with qrwbyjnr.
- Now that Salem is here, I think Oscar would go solo.
- perhaps he would play with his enemies’ minds. Oscar would anger Hazel and bring up his dead sister, Gretchen. He might bring up Ozpin to Qrow in order to upset and confuse him.
- Ozpin is back which means he can take control of Oscar. Oscar knows this. He’s strong enough to keep Oz at bay, but he worries that if he falls asleep, Oz will take over.
- so Oscar stays wide awake and ignores Ozpin’s concerns.
- FANFIC TIME 👇
- “You need to rest,” Ozpin keeps telling him.
- Oscar groaned. “I miss it when you were quiet.”
- “Oscar.”
- “Piss off,” Oscar mumbles. He stops walking for a moment. He tries standing up straighter, using Long Memory as support. Guess getting chased by an Anime-looking tiny woman and Atlas guards, then getting shot off a cliff takes a lot out of you. Oscar sighed and kept walking.
- “Why are you doing this, Oscar?”
- “Why? Did you see what they did to me?” Oscar then scoffed, “I guess you wouldn’t know since you left me all alone for months.”
- “I’m truly sorry about that. I shouldn’t have left you.”
- “But you did,” Oscar replied in a snarl. “I didn’t even know who I was anymore. I still don’t. I just want to go back to my farm, be with my aunt, sleep in my bed.”
- “I’m sorry.”
- “Doesn’t matter anymore.” Oscar looked up at the sky. Thunder and lighting and shadows came closer to Atlas. “I just need to figure out what to do now.”
Hey i love the blog!!! For the au's could u tell us more of salem!oscar?? Or if nah ozpin lives??? I know u just did that one but i freaking love it!!
Ozpin lives AU Headcanons
Awww thank you!!! (Sorry this was late)
- Since Oscar and Oz are connected, Oscar has access to some of Ozpin’s memories or knowledge. This is how he knew Jinn’s name.
- Oscar held Oz back from grabbing the relic from Ruby. Since Ozpin is stronger, he was able to get out of his hold and run at Ruby.
- Oscar feels bad after v6 because he caused Ozma and Salem’s backstories to get revealed
- rwb_ and jnor try to be as nice as possible to Oz after they realize the effect they had on him.
- Yang and Qrow... aren’t as kind. Yang is aggressive towards him and glares at him. Qrow just ignores him, avoids him at every turn.
- Offscreen, Neo attacks Oscar. She disguised herself as Oscar to confuse Ozpin. However Oscar sent Oz a telepathic message so he knew this wasn’t the real Oscar. They fought but Neo had been able to lose the both of them by going into another hallway. That’s when JNR found her
Salem!Oscar Headcanons
- After v6, Oscar has nightmares about Salem. Jaune, Nora, and Ren comfort him.
- since this is the first time rwbyjnr are actually speaking to the real Oscar, they’ve tried getting to know him. They’re nice to him and give him space.
- Oscar doesn’t know much about Ozpin except his backstory, so there isn’t exactly trust there. volume 8 would have Oscar and Oz learning to trust one another.
- In this AU, Oscar would have less training and fighting experience than canon Oscar. He only starts training at Atlas. This is a disadvantage for him and he could get hurt easily 👀
- Salem had been planning this the second she found out who the reincarnation after the King of Vale was; some young boy with nothing to his name, not even a family, called Ozpin.
- She wanted to find this reincarnation and control him, but the issue was the King of Vale and Ozpin had already been becoming one. She needed a soul untouched by Ozma.
- After Ozpin died, she searched all of Remnant. She found him; Oscar Pine, a 14-year-old farmhand in Anima. Through grimm, she visited him and took control.
- Once Ozpin realized what was happening, he couldn’t stop it. She was too powerful. He couldn’t keep her away and get Oscar out of it. It was too late.
- It was like Oz was being shoved to the back of Oscar’s head. He couldn’t speak to the boy, and when he tried, it was like Salem’s voice was all too much louder and stronger.
- Oscar freaked out. Of course he did, he suddenly had two immortal souls in his head fighting for control. He tried to fight Salem, but in the end, she won.
- As Oscar, Salem figured out where Qrow, Ozpin’s most loyal spy and friend, was headed; Haven Acadmey. Once she found Qrow in a filthy bar, all she had to do was act the part.
- Whenever one of qrwbyjnr asked for Ozpin, Salem pretended to be him. Qrow was a bit suspicious. He began asking questions. She was able to avoid or lie through every one of them, but she knew she needed to gain his trust.
- Salem had decided to keep this plan of taking control of Oscar to herself, so none of WTCH was aware. At Haven, Hazel attacked Oscar, thinking it was Ozpin.
- So Salem fought. She tried copying Ozpin’s fighting style as much as she could and she refrained from using magic. Afterwards, it was clear Qrow believed this was Ozpin. He had showed concern for ‘Oscar’ and even held him.
- Volume 6, team rwby starts asking too many questions, specifically about the relic and the fact that it was an attraction for grimm. Salem wasn’t aware of this, but because Ozpin is still a part of Oscar and their souls are still combining, she could access some of Oz’s memories. She explained the relic, but rwby was still suspicious.
- Salem had gotten so upset at rwby’s repetitive inquiries that she had forgotten about keeping Ozpin at bay. He was able to take control, but Ozpin was weaker than Salem so Oscar could fight for control. He took over (for the first time may I add) and he told Ruby to say the name ‘Jinn.’
- She did so, and Salem and Ozma’s past was revealed. Qrow and rwby had gotten mad at Ozpin. After Qrow punched Oz, he locked himself away in Oscar’s head.
- At Argus, Oscar tried to explain that Salem had been in control this whole time. This only made qrwbyjnr trust him less. Jaune pinned Oscar against a wall and accused him of actually being Salem or Ozpin.
- Salem may not be taking control of Oscar anymore, but I think she might still have the ability to see through him like Oz does. So basically she can see what qrwbyjnor are planning and doing which is very bad for them.
- While Salem was in control, Oscar was locked away in the back of his own mind with Ozpin. This is how they got to know each other.
- Oscar probably delevlops some serious control and identity issues after v6. For starters, he has no idea when he’ll stop being him and start being another Oz. And, y’know, the fucking devil took over his body.
- So he starts trying to take more control over his life. Rwbyjnr notice and help him out. Sometimes, out of the blue, one of them (probably Ruby, Jaune, Weiss, or Blake) will ask him a random question like; “What’s your favorite color?”, “Cats or dogs?”, “chocolate or vanilla?”, etc.
- This is to help Oscar make decisions for himself and understand he is his own person.
- I think while Oscar was telling Ironwood about Ozma, he would tell him that he was controlled by Salem at one point so there would be no more lies and half-truths between them. This would play a part in James’ paranoia. Before he shoots Oscar, he may start calling Oscar ‘Salem’ because he fears this is Salem he’s talking to.
Evil Oscar Pine redemption? (Sorry I just love the storyline of evil Oscar)
Evil Oscar Pine Redemption Headcanons
Ohhh a redemption... let’s see
- I think Ozpin and Ruby would be the most hopeful and would try to help Oscar as much as they can
- I’m going to mainly focus on Oz and Oscar tho. It’s not exactly a full on redemption, but i hope it still works for you
- Here’s what I think the beginning of a redemption arc for Oscar would look like; After landing outside of Atlas, Ozpin tries to convince a stubborn Oscar to change his mind.
As Oscar walked around rubble, he had found that he had a major headache. It had stopped for a few seconds when he yelled “shut up!”
He continued to walk with Long Memory keeping him from collapsing.
“Oscar.”
And there the headache was again. He tried to ignore the voice.
“What are you honestly getting out of this?”
“Ozpin, can you just shut the hell up?” Oscar replied.
“What happened to you?”
Oscar sighed. “Life,” he simply answered. “Now can you stop talking?”
“I think you’re at war with yourself.”
“Oh, my god,” Oscar grumbled in annoyance. He put his head back and looked up at the sky. He then placed his hands over his face to muffle his groans.
“You are upset and taking it out on everyone. I understand you’re tired of it all. Destroying RWBYJNR’s lives won’t fix anything.”
The boy sarcastically replied, “How much do you charge, doc?”
“Oscar, please—”
“I don’t want your help!” yelled Oscar. “You don’t understand what it’s like!”
“To have the people around you— the only people you trust— betray you and turn their backs on you? I understand that better than anyone.”
The boy let out a small scoff that sounded more like a sigh. “Then you understand why I’m doing this.”
“Oscar, this isn’t right. This isn’t the way to handle this.”
“Really? When Leo betrayed you, you didn’t want to kill him? Ruin him? Make him feel pain? Make him hurt?”
“No. Gods, no. Leo was a close friend of mine. He was in a vulnerable position and Salem took advantage of that. It’s wasn’t his fault—”
“You honestly believe that?”
“Yes, I do. He did more good than harm, that’s what truly matters. Why tarnish all of that and destroy the small amount of good the world has?”
“‘He did more good than harm’? Seriously, Oz?” Oscar snarled. He kept walking, the grip on the cane only becoming tighter. The end of Long Memory slammed into the icy ground with every step. “How much did that harm impact the world? How much did that so-called ‘good’ impact the world?”
“He changed lives, trained the next generation of huntsmen—”
“Then he killed them! He gave their names up and let them get slaughtered!”
“Yes, but—”
“But what? What excuse can you give for what he did?”
“Nothing can excuse what he did. It’s unforgivable. But he was a lost man. He needed a person to tell him what to do and he listened to the wrong person.”
“And what excuse can you give team RWBY?” Oscar asked.
Ozpin fell silent for a moment. He then spoke up. “I understand their reactions. They were upset.”
“And Qrow?”
Suddenly a wave of emotion passed through him. It’s like Oscar felt Ozpin actually flinch.
Oscar said, “See? That hurt. What he did to you. Why not make him feel that?” This time his tone was much more calmer and lower.
“No, I don’t want to hurt him. I’ve already done that enough.”
The farmhand muttered, “Pathetic.”
“I’m pathetic for not wanting to hurt a man I love?”
“Yep.”
“What if it was your aunt?”
Oscar blinked. “What?”
“You love her, do you not? She’s always been there for you. What if one day, she found out something about you— something horrible and shocking— and she told you were the worst thing to ever happen to her?”
“I—” Oscar couldn’t finish his sentence.
“Would you have wanted to off her as well? Would you willingly hurt someone you cared for because they hurt you?”
“It’s different. I don’t care about RWBY or JNR.”
“And yet you used Qrow against me.”
“To make you understand.”
“No, you used what I love most against me to prove you’re in the right when you are most certainly not.”
“But I am!”
“You’re not!” He repeated, “You’re not. Oscar, you’re only hurting yourself by doing this. Because of you, RWBYJNR are at a disadvantage. Salem is on her way to attack Atlas as we speak. They will lose.”
“Why should I care?” Oscar responded, his voice grouchy.
“It means you would be on your own—”
“What’s new?”
“— and Salem will find you. By now, she should be aware of who you are. That stunt with Tyrian and Watts surely means she knows.”
“They never spoke with Salem about me—”
“How could you know that? Tyrian Callows is the most loyal minion I’ve ever seen Salem have, and Arthur Watts is a smart, strategic man. You think they wouldn’t tell her?”
Oscar opened his mouth to speak, but he couldn’t come up with a response.
“Salem has been playing you. She wanted to make you think you were in control. It’s what she does. She uses people and convinces them they have a say in their lives, their futures. Then she grabs what little hope you have and obliterates it.”
Oscar gulped. He paused. He stood still, the cane almost slipping out of his hand now that his tight grip was gone.
“Don’t get me started on Cinder Fall and Neopolitan. Cinder knew that by using you, she could return to Salem’s good graces. Neo is only in it for her own selfish reasons. You replaced your only circle of allies with a group of criminals and murders who never gave a damn about you to begin with.”
“Shut up!” Oscar screamed.
Once he slowed his breathing and could think without Ozpin talking, he came up with a solution. “I’ll just kill them too then.”
Ozpin sighed. “How will you do that? Cinder is the Fall Maiden, Neo and Tyrian are trained killers, even Watts has far more training than you do. Do I even need to bring up Salem? She’s immortal. She cannot die. You know that.”
“I’ll just kill her people after killing RWBYJNR and Qrow, then I’ll leave.”
“You’re going to hide? That’s your solution?”
Oscar shrugged. “Yeah, pretty much.”
“Oscar, I’ve tried that and Salem has found me almost every time.”
“She won’t this time then.” He contined to walk in the middle of nowhere. He noticed the dark shadows coming closer to Atlas.
“You really are determined, aren’t you?”
“Yes, I am.”
“James shot you, will you be killing him as well?”
“Sure.”
“You have quite the hit list.”
Oscar told him, “I know you want to say something so just do it.”
“How do you plan on taking out all these people when you don’t even have a fourth of their training?”
“I have magic now, don’t I? I’ll be fine.” He looked down to his hand. He could feel the power running through his veins.
“You know I won’t stop trying to get you to quit this silly hunt.”
“Yeah, I know. You can try all you want.”
“I will.”
Oscar smiled, some hesitance in it. He hoped Ozpin didn’t notice. “Fine. Let’s see who wins.”
