Ascended Astarion x Pet Dark Urge is such a great evil story- tragic for everyone around them. But not for them. No, for in their minds they are Perfect.
Astarion believes he has won, with all the benefits of the living returned to him and all the evil power he can possibly imagine at his fingertips- and The Dark Urge, his pet, his precious consort, utterly his.
For The Dark Urge, they release themselves to the darkest parts of their being, let go of all upper levels of thinking and give themselves over. All the attention they could ever desire, and the ability to shamelessly make corpses of whomever their lover points an elegant finger at.
To give up completely on all morals and care for living souls, to indulge utterly in their darkest delights, whimsy, urges. Both utterly chained to one another in ways inescapable but neither ever seeking or wishing to break the bond.
How far would they get, together? How much damage would they wreak upon the world before being overthrown and destroyed? Before some team rises up to take them down?
How many hundreds of years in each other's blood soaked embrace, indulging in sadistic debauchery and delighting in wanton destruction before it all comes crashing down?
And by the time they lose, when it's over, finally over,
Would they appreciate being taken out? Would they be tired, and though they fight as hard as they can, be almost grateful to finally rest? For in all that time, though they both got everything they have ever wanted,
Would they ever be able to say they got what they needed?
Would their souls still even exist, flickering embers at their core, or would that have been rendered to dust long ago, put out by the wet spray of blood and left until it dried into nothing?
Or would it end another way, when they win, and alone upon their throne they sit. No one left to conquer. No one left to kill. What then, with century upon century slipping through their fingers, unchallenged and unopposed?
How long could they sit on their laurels before the desire to escalate set in, and they found themselves deliberately choosing battles that cannot be won, taking on enemies that are sure to destroy them?
And in the end would that be Death that chose them, or they that chose Death?
And in that ending,
Would they find peace, at last?
