Shadow’s grudge against Sonic in Boom universe is so exaggerated it’s almost comical—like, dude is ready to destroy everything just because Sonic exists. And Sonic? He’s just rolling with it, not even giving Shadow the satisfaction of being genuinely mad back. It’s like an ex who’s still fuming about a breakup years later, while the other one just shrugs and says, “Yeah, they’re complicated.”
What’s interesting is that Boom!Shadow doesn’t get much depth beyond his rivalry with Sonic. Unlike other versions where his resentment usually ties into something personal (Maria, his past, betrayal, etc.), here it seems entirely about Sonic. Which makes it even funnier that Sonic doesn’t return the same energy—he just lets Shadow seethe. The sheer imbalance of it makes their interactions feel even pettier, like one side of a very bitter breakup that Sonic barely even acknowledges.
