1: Origins! How did you come up with the concept for your OC?
you KNOW sidney!!!
back in The Day i created a pokemon oc for an rp community and just kinda let him loose? he did a lot of development over time rather than making him all at once; he started as “this is what i did during my own playthrough of the game” but it eventually got to a point where he was much more like him than he was like me, and he actually became someone worth writing actual stories about.
his main traits when i created him were “nervous but friendly” “likes pokemon well enough but is reluctant to stretch his boundaries” and “gets attached to things really easily.” he really started to develop as a person and a character when i gave him a pokemon he actually... cared about... a lot....
actually yeah, i think sidney actually became the character he is right now about the same time i gave him helios. without helios, he just isn’t the same person; the two of them have to be a unit, or it’s just not quite right.
i’ve been thinking of trying to transfer him into one of the original projects i’ve been working on lately, but i haven’t for two reasons: first, the concept of a partner pokemon does Not translate well into any of them. second, he would Not get along with most of the characters i’ve written in those worlds and they would make him pretty sad. i love him too much to steal helios from him and give him a bunch of people he would hate just so i can keep writing him
