Okay I need to explain the Golden Queen and Aurora dynamic to you guys bc I feel like I came out of nowhere with it but I promise I’ve put thought into it 😭
Okay okay, so it’s less romance and more obsession with each other. For GQ it’s Aurora’s value, like she was Eon’s pupil and would’ve been the one to take the mantel of portal master after him had things turned out different, her ties to the Skylanders and their allies are strong and all of this makes her valuable meaning that’d she would be a one of kind treasure for the Golden Queen to have when she turns her to gold (this is all based on the dialogue of calling Cali ‘much more precious to me’ when she kidnapped her)
And for Aurora, I think GQ represents finally proving herself worthy and capable (bc so much of her dialogue and backstory seems to revolve around proving herself), so that when she defeats the Golden Queen (in this au?? Reimagining?? Whatever this is) it’ll finally be proof that she’s capable of defending the Skylands and idk fixing all her deep-seated issues
And all of that culminates into a weird obsession with each other that tilts more romantic but I doubt they acknowledge it
