Will Branner's portrayal of Hidgens feels like it should be the standard portrayal. It was the first time where I genuinely saw the Doc Brown inspiration for the character. He had that old man rasp and I easily believed he was actually an old man. He truly felt like a recluse that only sees other people when he teaches because he didn't have a charismatic bone in his body when interacting with the others. He just had an unsettling vibe the whole time, especially since he would constantly stare unblinkingly. He moved like a Scooby-Doo villian. Despite the fact he easily shot infected Charlotte and Sam, I do not trust him with any firearms whatsoever. The fact he was a theater kid was not even a surprise because of just how he acted the entire time. He completely embraced being mauled to death in order to join the hive. And, it was so obvious he's never touched a women and is still pining for Chad and his working boys.
It was just a spectacular performance and it will probably be how I see Hidgens forever
