Bada and Haon release BC Portal song “Can’t Love You Anymore”

Chroma’s Bada and Knight’s Haon have collaborated to release a new single through BC’s extension of the Portal digital music project. Bada was revealed as the first member of Chroma in January while Haon made his solo debut in March. This release is both idols’ first collaboration through Portal. “Can’t Love You Anymore” is an R&B track with minimalist production where the pair sings of a dying relationship. Haon is credited as the lyricist, songwriter, and producer for the song.

Haon releases debut solo album “re:[gone]″

Knight’s Haon has dropped his debut full-length solo album! The rapper debuted in 2012 as a member of Knight, and also branched out into a sub-unit last year for the first time in his career as BC Entertainment unveiled Knight’s Knight Light sub-unit. His first solo release came under two months ago as Haon released “Maestro” through BC Portal. “Downtown Baby” was released as a pre-release track off of Haon’s debut album a week ago, hinting at what fans might be able to expect from his premiere as a true solo artist.

re:[gone] takes what Haon had shown of himself with “Maestro” and expands it into a full eleven track album. The album opens with the bold and carefree, almost taunting “Middle Fingers-Up”, but that attitude is eschewed for more vulnerability in parts of the album such as the mid-album “Take Care of You” and the pre-release track “Downtown Baby”. BEE’s Jiah is highlighted as the album’s only feature, with an appearance on “Phone”. Haon was involved creatively in the musical production of the album, having a hand in the lyrical, musical, and production content of all eleven tracks, either in part or in full.

The headlining single of the album is “Meteor”. In “Meteor”, Haon discusses his rise to fame, comparing himself to a meteor and a star over a driving beat. “Meteor” will be promoted for a month on music shows and b-side track “Artist” will be performed solo as an auxiliary stage for the first week of promotions.

After much speculation as to who the person behind the brand was, BC Entertainment has confirmed through a press release that the brand Otakgyu is a project created by Knight’s Haon, now available online. The first release for Otakgyu is for the spring/summer 2021 season and is stated to be the biggest batch of garments the brand plans on releasing, encompassing everything from clothing and accessories to shoes. Haon is credited as the creative director of the brand, having a heavy hand to all aspects from the designs itself to the packaging of the clothing.

Otakgyu is described as an extension of Haon himself, and his sense of emptiness as a modern day icon contradicted by the reveal of small niched interests he’s hidden away for the entirety of his career. Marketed towards anyone who wants to “find a utopia that they have yet to reach”, the brand’s cryptic mantra follows the street-style trends in oversized t-shirts, hoodies, and sneakers following the monochrome color ways with rare bursts of colors in the form of random daisies, roses, and smeared paint.

This season carries some special takeaway must-haves for the fashion collectors such as the t-shirts and hoodies with iconic anime character memes, headbands with the brand’s logo, and the shoelaces with ‘otakgyu’ engraved on the aglets using the Knight member’s own handwriting. To commemorate the launch, ten denim jackets were released with the launch, each one uniquely hand and spray-painted by Haon himself, marked at 1.7 million won. The sneakers come in forest green, black, and white with the pale yellow not for sale, but instead gifted from Haon to his close circle.

The price range is on the high end compared to other online fashion brands with the standard t-shirt hovering around the 250,000 price range and the standard hat at 150,000 won — the online store is stated to only carry a set number of pieces at a first come first serve basis while future drops are speculated to be sold via a random raffle system. Haon has amassed a lot of traction with his first full-length album re[gone] released earlier this month while serving as the face of Chanel since January of this year.

Haon releases BC Portal song “Maestro”

Knight’s Haon has released his first ever solo single through BC Portal today. Haon debuted as one of two members in Knight’s third sub-unit Knight Light last year, but this is the idol’s first official solo single release since his 2012 debut. In “Maestro”, Haon compares himself to a maestro as he raps over a piano instrumental. He boasts through largely classical music metaphors, with other pop culture and artistic references sprinkled throughout. Haon wrote, composed, and produced the track.

Haon releases “Downtown Baby” ahead of solo album release

A week before the release of his debut solo album, Knight’s Haon has dropped the album’s pre-release single, “Downtown Baby”. “Downtown Baby” is a heartbroken ode to his titular “downtown baby” with prominent guitar in the instrumental. The music video follows Haon through settings including city streets, photoshoot sets, and beaches. Lipstick’s Hyeju appears as the female lead of the music video. Haon is credited for writing, composing, and producing the track.

New mentor lineup for Hot Topic announced

The third mentor lineup for the currently airing survival show Hot Topic have been announced!

According to a new press release, Knight’s Duri and Aria’s Nina have been cast to help mentor the show’s contestants on their vocals, while CHARM’s Dowoon and Element’s Sun will be dance mentors for the position evaluations, and Knight’s Haon and Unity’s Jaewon will help the contestants with rap. They’ll appear in the episodes set to air January 22 and 29.

The popularity of Hot Topic has only risen in recent weeks as the show’s contestants increasingly gain attention and fans as the season approaches its halfway point.

According to reports, the mentors have all already filmed their appearances on the show.

Knight’s Haon to appear on Law of the Jungle in Mexico

SBS has confirmed that Knight’s Haon will join the cast for Law of the Jungle in Mexico, set to air beginning November 27, with Haon’s segment set to air in early 2021. This has been speculated after fans snapped the main rapper at Incheon Airport with a group of people, presumed to be star-studded cast of the Mexico segment.

Producers of the show have stated that Haon was chosen based on his dominating, yet mysterious aura, hoping to showcase a different side that fans and viewers have not seen before.

Knight has just finished promotions for their latest comeback “Obsession”. This will be the rapper’s first solo endeavor since Knight’s debut in 2012.

Chanel, the French fashion house in womenswear, announced today that they have extended their partnership with Haon. Haon has been serving as the brand’s ambassador since January of this year. The Knight member has been notorious for his distinctive style and his own hand in the fashion industry after the release of his clothing line Otakgyu, which launched back in March.

A representative for Chanel explained that they admire Haon’s ability to bend the stereotypical fashion rules, and his own creative vision paired with his passion for fashion have driven their decision. The brand has also declared that “[Chanel] hopes to keep this a longlasting partnership as Haon serves as the perfect piece to complement their brand.” In response, BC released their own statement in which Haon himself replies, “I really hoped to be able to attend Chanel’s avant fashion week in Paris as an ode to this extension, but regardless, I remain honored to serve as a brand that has constantly served as the beacon of fashion.”

To commemorate this extension, Chanel has released a video, showing the idol pairing Chanel’s Gabrielle bag with pieces from Chanel’s latest line, alongside backstage clips of the idol before Knight’s concerts.

Besides serving as Chanel’s ambassador, Haon has been keeping busy with his own Otakgyu clothing line and his current stint in the Amazing Saturday DoReMi Market cast. The rapper has shown off his vocal talents in a recent collaboration with “Can’t Love You Anymore” as Knight Light continues to promote “1 Billion Views” and “Telephone” on music shows.
