Dowoon releases debut solo mini-album “Mayday″
CHARM’s Dowoon has made his solo debut with the release of his first solo mini-album! Dowoon debuted as CHARM’s performance unit leader and main dancer in 2015, but has only recently started to branch out into activities outside of his group as a guest mentor on Hot Topic(k).
Mayday serves to introduce different facets of Dowoon’s identity as a solo artist to fans. The mini-album begins with its titular track “Mayday”, which includes a feature by Lucid’s Jaein, is a chill trap song that relaxes the listener before the more intense “TOUCHIN’” and more energetic “Hit It Off”, featuring Dowoon’s groupmate Yuanjun, take their turns in the track list. The mini-album ends with track four, “I HOPE”, the brightest song off of the album.
“TOUCHIN’”, which will serve as the mini-album’s promoted single, is a sleek dance track driven by electronic guitar synths. In the music video, Dowoon takes on dual roles of the star of an action movie, and the viewer at home watching the movie on his own. Reports have confirmed that Dowoon made the song’s choreography, which is highlighted throughout the video. “TOUCHIN’” will be promoted for two weeks on music shows and b-side track “I HOPE” will also be staged for the first week of promotions.
