For once Frankee is the one sleeping 🌹 Yesterday in Amsterdam
Monday 29th May - I ran my first 10k race since I was 19, the Vitality 10,000 in London. My aim was to get under 50 minutes and I came in just under 47minutes- 46 minutes 56 seconds. I was over the moon, it made all the tingly leg sensation, vomit inclinations and over heating/burning ears (bloody over head earphones!!) worth every second!
I was pretty useless for the rest of the day, fell asleep walking to the train, tripped on a tile (for the record, the tile got in the way). I ate a whole packet of super scrummy salty nuts while stood in the middle of the kitchen snoozing... until my knees actually unlocked and the nuts and I fell all over the floor, what a waste!
As I sat down for dinner I knew this was only going to go one way... snoozing while eating, trust me its actually not as hard as it looks!! However, this time I back tracked 22 years- bib, bottle, slurry words and no hand eye co-ordination at all, so much so I started to feed MY EYE!!! Yes, thats right, I poked my self in the eye with my fork. I bought my fork from my plate to my....EYE! Got it yet? I’ll say it once more- I PUT MY FORK TO MY EYE AS IF IT WAS MY MOUTH! Oh Jesus Belle!
But all these struggles were so worth it, as the rush of adrenaline I had when I crossed the finish line in London was incredible, I felt strong, I felt like a winner, a winner to my self, I'm never going to let Narcolepsy stop me doing these things because I CAN physically do it, I finished in the top 5% of women, so I'm no different, just need to sleep more often!
I love setting my self goals as it gives me something to look forward too and also a sense of achievement! Even if it is to walk a 5k or something like that, I strongly suggest you do it. You will feel great afterwards, I promise! Our bodies are made to move, made to sleep a little more than other but we are still made to move so get up and do something, its very cliche I know, but we have one life and we choose how to live it, don't waste your days, use them wisely, be healthy, be happy and be STRONG, mentally and physically!

Most of you have probably seen this quote before... but this time I'm relating to something different. When I was 17 I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy, over the last few years my condition has become so much worse. If someone said 4 years ago, you will fall asleep uncontrollably 10-12 times a day and you will not be able to function without medication, I would of cried and probably given up on any sort of occupation, let alone striving for a successful career. But as I have taken every single day as it comes, I've grown with my condition, I've grown to accept it, live with it, talk about it and work with it. So, whats the relation to this quote? Well when I am feeling sleepy, groggy, sad and just like I literally want to go to bed for a whole year and never wake up, I KNOW that after doing a workout or just a little bit of physical activity, I will feel energised, awake and far from a narcoleptic girl. I feel great when I run, when I jump, when I box - do you know why?! Because I can! I might have to sleep 10 times a day for 10 minutes but when I feel awake I want to make the most of it before I have the feeling of being woken from general anesthetic. I sometimes say to people I would love to sit in class at school for 2 hours and concentrate for the whole 2 hours (maybe not physics 😋) but that's only because I know I can't do that now! So please, if you can run, run! If you can jump, jump! You will only regret it when you can't do it! Do something about it now before it's too late! 💪🏼 Live an active life, it's so worth it!
