Exeter comic con was this weekend! It was really fun! I had a great time sharing a stall with @somniladon and met lots of lovely artists! I was also super happy with my display this time, i think the new frips flock sign is a banger and having such a dense display works really well.
I got a lovely little haul of stuff and was so pleasantly surprised to see witch hat atelier stuff! Its nice to see a few artists among the sea of absolute SLOP that the rest of the con was vending. So much drop shipping and AI Wich is shit to see. Its a real shame ukcgf pushes out and discourages artists while letting in thieves like these. I think small cons like this are so important to the overall artist alley ecosystem, they’ve really helped me find my footing and grow. So i think its important that they keep going but there becoming cess pits for dropshippers Wich chases actual artists away. These are the events that the general casual pubic go to and its just teaching them to value slop over artists. For example I got so many comments from grown ass adults scoffing that my fursuit tail prices were too high, then going on to buy a much cheeper absolutely abysmal quality tail from a slop vendor. Sratchy fun fur fabric and probably made in a sweat shop. I get it, we cant all afford luxury items like this but then just dont go and buy something so unethical instead.
It was also mildly stressful since i lost my phone on the rail replacement bus on the way there (I’ve by some miracle gotten it back now) and then my debit card physically broke. But honestly i dont stress about that sort of thing unless somebody else is also stressing about it!
So my good friends over at 2040 Productions have a table at their first comic expo this sunday! And the artist is currently talking to me, asking for ideas on what to draw in preparation.
So I've just listed every damn fandom there is on tumblr.
Dude should tumblr more often, no end to inspiration then.
