How are the creatures of the house?
Essie is absolutely fascinated by Laika, but Laika is terrified of her. They keep staring each other down…one is curious and I’m pretty sure for Laika she thinks Essie is trying to assert dominance (especially when she jumps onto the desk to watch her). Mocha is indifferent to her presence and is keeping away. It’s funny, actually, because I mentioned my two skittish cats and the ACO at the shelter was like “perfect, they can all just avoid each other” and that’s about what’s going on.
I think the biggest bit of stress is on Laika. She has no leash or potty training because they straight up couldn’t get a leash on her, so they just left her alone. So she goes wherever she is, and I can’t correct it because she won’t do it in front of me (she will eat in front of me though…it’s odd), and I can’t take her out because she has no leash training. She’s still figuring things out but she’s getting braver already and will let me touch her. She popped into the kitchen today while I was making lunch. I have to ignore her, though, or else she’ll skitter away.
