EX HEX drop two new tracks

EX HEX drop two new tracks, including "It's Real" - the album title track that wasn't on the album Fresh off shows with The Raconteurs and Belle & Sebastian, as well as an appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, Ex Hex dropped two new tracks last night! “It’s Real” is the previously unreleased title track to their most recent album, whilst “What Kind of Monster Are You?” is a classic track by legendary early 90s DC riot grrl originators Slant 6, a group co-founded by Mary Timony’s former Autoclave bandmate Christina Billotte. Ex Hex (now officially a quartet with the Make-Up's Michelle Mae joining the group) are out on the west coast this month. Happy Tuesday, all, & welcome to the grand reset of our week as we at Reporting From 20XX turn the page onto the new week! As we look outside, the rains continue to pummel the Queen City in heavy spurts, and yet that's done nothing to keep people from being active in the scene. We hope it doesn't wall you in, but definitely be safe out there this week as you travel out into & about the area. Tonight's light on shows around the scene, but that's just Charlotte taking a breather before turning the heat up a couple notches. Here's the low down on what's up for your Tuesday; - Ex Hex holds the Queen City in their grasp, joined by the Spider Bags as they make their temporary headquarters in the Neighborhood Theatre. ~~~~~ Ex Hex comes out of the DC Music Scene, currently on tour with their recently released March album "It's Real" at their behest. Their sound surpasses decades to get to the present with vibes from 80's Glam Rock era injected in, fine-tuned with punk riffs, modernizing it for today. ~~~~~~ Spider Bags originates out of New Jersey, but found a new home when Dan McGee, OG member & frontman, transplanted himself in our backyard, a la Chapel Hill, NC. Since their beginning in the early 2000's, the band's had a variety of line-ups, drawing from talent in both of the band's territories. The latest album, "Someday Everything Will Be Fine" comes at you fast with its amped-up tempo and hits hard with feverish rock stylings.~~~~~ Come check these bands out tonight when doors open at 7pm, tickets are $18 at the door, come prepared for a chill time.
