Exile is Bon Iver being like “what went wrong & why did we end & why are you moving on so fast?” & he’s like “you’re not my homeland anymore so what am I defending now?” Because he STILL loves her & would still stand by her because of it, no matter what, & Taylor Swift is like “I know you’re mad but I’m not your problem anymore so who am I offending now? How DARE you look at me like that?” Like she’s BLAMING Bon for being angry for HER being a problem that she RECOGNIZES BUT REFUSES TO FIX, but he STILL loves her & she’s mad at him for it & blaming about it. & Bon is like “you were my homeland” & Taylor is like “you were my crown” (just an accessory). AND THEN Taylor is like “I gave you hundreds of chances” but CANT LOOK AT THIS MAN OR FACE HIM SO SHE “LEAVES. OUT. THE. SIDE. DOOR” like the coward she’s described as & Bon is like “STEP RIGHT OUT THEN. Because even though I’m heartbroken AND STILL want you, there’s no amount of crying I can do for you” BECAUSE HIS PARTNER’s PROBLEMS ARE INTERNAL AND NOT HIS FAULT. AND THEN STILL HEARTBROKEN Bon is like “you didn’t even give a warning sign” & Taylor is like “I gave so many signs” & Bon is like “well I can’t read your mind” and taylor BLAMES HIM AGAIN like “you never learned to read my mind and you didn’t EVEN see the signs.” And because he still loves her but recognizes she is her own problem he says “I couldn’t turn things around” like he’s sorry for it AND THIS BITCH BLAMES HIM AGAIN FOR HIS OWN HEARTBREAK when she says “You NEVER turned things around.” Like Bon would’ve done ANYTHING for Taylor if she would’ve just communicated BUT. THATS. THE. PROBLEM. AND THEN SHE BLAMES HIM FOR HER LACK OF LOVE.

AND IF THAT AINT THE FUCKING GODDAMN TRUTH. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

“I think I’ve seen this film before and I didn’t like the ending” SPEAKS VOLUMES if you take it from the perspective of people getting back together over and over because one of them wants to love the other so much so that it makes them a better person and UGH.
