Okay, doing a bit more analysis on Exosister Karmael and I've noticed something... interesting.
Now the outfit on the whole is definitely Martha's, pretty clearly. However there are some interesting changes, such as the tassels on Martha's left shoulder being replaced by these ring loops. Or the fact that she has this big, flowing waist-cape.
But funny thing; while Martha's base form doesn't have these features, I just remembered someone who DOES.
Guys, I'm thinking Martha and Elis overlayed for reals XD
Been playing Exosisters for the Light vs Dark festival.
Exosister Martha
See other entries in Yu-Gi-Oh! Waifu series.
I think the concept of Exosisters, nuns that explore a seemingly post-apocalyptic world with magical girl-esque transformations to fight monsters (that also happen to be inspired in female only catholic schools with the trope of upper and underclassmen bonding with the "onee-samas" relationship with hints of Yuri) to be extremely near and interesting. However. Their card artwork has a massive issue for me.
A lot of them are drawn with nothing in their same plane, which is good as to not cover the important part, the character, but:
The buildings on the back look tiny, making them look gargantuan. Martha being added later doesn't help too much because her artwork barely has anything behind her as she's in some roof. None of them are supposed to look Kaiju sized as shown in other cards:
Of course, the exceptions to this issue are the younger ones, Sophia and Stella. But poor Sophia had her status as the shortest one of the group cemented even further as she's not only the one to have something next to her to compare her height properly, she's shown to not even be half as tall as a bookshelf:
So, uh... something weird/crazy/hilarious I just realized:
The Exosisters in the Yugioh card game are a team of four girls with magical powers who hunt monsters in what seems to be a psuedo-post-apolocyptic setting.
Who are specifically partnered together (Elis with Stella and Irene with Sophia) to the point that they each get additional effects if their partner is on the field with them.
And if you happen to put the first letters of their names together, you get 'ESIS'
As in, E-SIS
As in, Exosister.
So yeah, I kinda wanna say there are probably at least a few RWBY fans among the Yugioh card designers.
Been playing a bit of Duel Links recently.
And I have to say I think it is REALLY funny that they apparently decided that the event focused on the guy who plays Salamangreats would be the PERFECT time to release the archetype of Magical Girl Nuns with a rabid, fanatical hatred of the opponent’s graveyard XD
So thanks to the new Duel Links update, I have been reminded of just how incredibly GAY the Exosisters are XD
Im not really into card games or Yu-Gi-Oh, but the Exosisters are cool as fuck.
