RaySwap- Prologue

It all started with Logic.  With two Logics from two different dimensions to be precise.  

Despite being from two different places, the two Logics had multiple similarities,

Both were light sides.  

Both were named Logan.  

Both were there to help Thomas.  

But there were so many more differences between the two, the two Logics having experienced so many different things. 

 One was a place where the mindpalace was still split, the dark sides and the light sides still being divided.  

The other was from a place where there really weren’t light and dark sides anymore, everyone was just themselves.  

One refused to admit he had emotions while the other expressed his emotions freely.  

But the most important difference didn’t have to do with Logic, it had to do with another side of Thomas.  The side that represented two different things in two different dimensions.

In one dimension, she was Protectiveness, being there to help every side and Thomas, sometimes at the cost of taking care of herself.

In another, she was Paranoia.  Scared to reveal her true self to the light sides in fear of what they might do to her.  Needing help of the direst kind.  Needing support.

Which of course brings us back to what the two Logics were doing.  An experiment they both stumbled upon, though both would deny it was borderline magic.

After all who would take up the chance to cross dimensions?  Of course, neither noticed the very important line in the print.  The one who needs it the most, which clearly wasn’t either Logic if they had noticed it.

When the experiment was concluded, both Logics sighed and resigned to try another day when nothing seemed to happen.  Neither knowing the swap occurring between their two mindscapes.

Looking for participants (18+) for MSci Psychology Project

Hi- this is not my usual type of post, but I’m also a desperate student...

[Academic] Public Perceptions of Guilt of Sexual Offenders (Age 18+)

Hello! We are MSci students looking for participants to take part in our study, which includes reading information regarding a sexual offender and rating your opinions on guilt and sentencing of that offender.

The study is examining public perceptions of sexual offenders. To take part in this study you must be aged 18 or over. The study includes information from a fictitious case file which will contain some offensive language. This study also contains information on a fictional sexual offense which may be distressing to you if you have been a victim of sexual abuse.

If you find reading about crimes of a sexual nature too distressing, or have been a victim of such a crime, please do not participate.  

The study will take approximately 15-20 minutes to fully complete. In the first part of the study you will be asked to complete a short questionnaire providing answers to some demographic questions.  All responses to all questions in this study will be anonymised, and you will not be identifiable from your responses. You will be provided with information from a fictional court case, after which you will be asked questions regarding your perceptions of the offender’s blameworthiness and guilt, and you will be asked to indicate what in your view would be an appropriate sentence for the offence. You will be able to withdraw from this study at any point during it by closing the tab on your web browser. If you do this, your responses will not be recorded.

Letterpress Workshop-

In this workshop were asked to choose three words that were based on what we wanted to be in the future. While choosing three words we had to choose the type of text, in the letterpress room there was loads of different fonts. When choosing the fonts you place them in this clamp which we are given. You have to place the word upside down so when you print it, it’s the right way up. When you have completed the word you have to add pieces of metal at the end of the clamp to keep the text in place.

The next step with the clamp is when you want to add another word on, you need a piece a lead on top of the previous word to make sure they are too close to each other, also they are kept straight. When you have completed the words it is then placed on a metal frame surrounded by other clamps and metal bars inside the frame. It has to be tight enough to show that font and for it not to fall out. 

After applying the dye to the lettering with a thin layer on the roller it should cover the whole words. then you place the metal frame with the clamp in the frame on the press machine. add the paper lightly on top so it doesn't print funny. You have to make sure that the paper is placed straight an underneath the roller. Pull the roller across and you should have a perfect letter press.

I really enjoyed doing this workshop because it was a fun process to creating own word and first letterpress. When I got the hang of it I also played around with different angles and layering up to create one pattern. Definitely want to do it again.
