it’s amazing what you can do by yourself if you put your mind to it. All sorts of tasks that are supposed to require two or even three people, a determined person can manage solo.

The manufacturer I’ve used for the last 5 years stopped making my antidepressants. After I switched brands, some bad things happened, and I had some panic attacks. As a result, I became worried the new brand isn’t as good as the old one.

To cure myself of my fear, I’m doing double blind trials.

And I’m doing them by myself! I have four identical bottles loaded with daily doses, two from each brand. I close the bottles, put them in the box, and shake it up. Then I select a bottle and down the contents without looking. I keep a log of my mental health for the day. The next day, I look in the three remaining bottles to see what I took.

Thanks to my trials, I’m fairly certain the panic attack I had when I switched brands was just a placebo effect related to my fear of losing control over my medication. My double blind trial has demonstrated convincingly that I cannot tell the difference between the two manufacturers. so in a couple months when I run out of the old brand, my mental health will be okay and I won’t have more panic attacks :)
