Sigil attempt #2. This time I’m using the word “calm,” to inspire that in times of strong emotion. The face, in addition to being the actual sigil itself, reflects a calm, happy image to make use of the psychological process of emotional contagion. Additionally, the background color is Baker-Miller pink - which has been experimentally shown to reduce negative emotional expression. And just to make sure I have all my bases covered, I included a self-comforting phrase used by the Dialectical Behavior Therapy Workbook to calm overwhelming emotions.
This one should be more measurable. Do people calm down upon exposure to this sigil? That is a testable hypothesis.
Experimental Structure:
First, rate emotional strength on a scale of 1-10. Then look at the image for ten continuous seconds, and rate emotional strength once again.
(My wife went down from a 5 to a 3! Encouraging, though I need a larger test group.)
