Fried Egg With Homemade Marinara and Pepper While this admittedly isn't my prettiest dish, it's also not my ugliest. This is one of those experimental concept dishes that tastes waaay better than it looks. A fried egg sits atop of some seasoned diced red pepper stirred into some leftover homemade red sauce(s) with parmesan cheese. Mozzarella becomes the frame of the egg that looks like an alien eyeball garnished with sriracha. Mmm!! French Macarons (First Attempt) I know, I know. More like Macaruineds. To be fair, they taste pretty good. They're just extra crispy and didn't rise as well as I had hoped. I'm really not much a baker. Everything has to be precise... one wrong move and you're done for. I'll most likely attempt these again someday with the lessons I learned from the experience. Overall, I'm happy I pushed and challenged myself. Kept me out of trouble today, too. ;) Oh, and the ganache is to die for. Cleaning out the cabinets and I found this package of cookie mix, presumably from a gift basket or something. New waffle iron from Christmas, random package of cookie mix... I've been on Pinterest long enough to know how this works. Orrrr... doesn't work. It baked up like cake, not a cookie. When it cools, I'll scrape it all up and toss it in a freezer bag for future ice cream or yogurt topping, I suppose.
