delia's stomach flipped as she was launched out of whatever the hell black hole she can only assume she was just in. groaning as she hit hard ground she rolled over to her back and held her eyes closed, confident this must be some type of bad dream. when her eyes peeked open she was met with the view of blue skies and a wishing well? not the hustle and bustle of rome streets, that's for sure. not even the wood carved ceiling of her bedroom. not a bad dream.. a nightmare. wincing as she got to her feet, delia looked around and started her way down what she thought could maybe be a path.. lightly traveled, but traveled nonetheless.
thankfully, it didn't take too long before she came across a paved road, the end not visible from where she stood. she couldn't hear many sounds outside of the wild life, nor did she see any people or houses.. strange. "when things don't go right, go left." she sighed and started down the road. nearly ten minutes later and the sight of actual people and buildings made cordelia sigh in relief. part of her wanted to run up to the first person she saw and tell them she was 99% sure she just flew out of a well in the middle of the woods, but delia's seen enough in the city her whole life to know how that goes.
her eyes landed on a diner, a blonde woman talking to a young boy outside the front doors. as the distance between the strangers closed she noticed the shine of what appeared to be a badge. the blonde was a cop, she subtly turned and made her way past them hoping to avoid the blonde's attention. wherever she was, was definitely small. the sense of community oozed out of the seams in the sidewalk.
not looking where she was going, she ran directly into what she was sure to be the most gorgeous woman she had ever seen. "oh my god, i am so sorry." her arms reached out, steadying the brunette. the woman responded in kind. though, the look on the dark haired woman's face unsettled delia. as if the woman knew cordelia didn't belong. "sorry again, i should really be going." she rushed out with a smile, hoping the blonde officer hadn't heard the commotion.
