These shots go WAY back before Blindspot, 300-Rise of an Empire, Gangster Squad Strike Back or even Animal Kingdom at a time when i was trying to help out young and upcoming actors with free shoots. And at a time that I probably still didn’t believe in my work enough to charge for shoots! Remember kids, doing work for free is a bad habit that becomes hard to break and elicits further abuse of your talents. If you change nothing it’s worth nothing. At this point of my career i was occasionally shooting with Leica film cameras and capturing the bulk of my images on … wash my mouth out with bleach …. #Canon! (5D MKII) 🤮😹 We did this shoot in my dear friend Dante’s studio-dungeon in Melbourne Australia well over 10 years ago and I recently post-produced for this post with @exposuresoftware. I decided to keep retouching down to nothing or an absolute minimum and you may notice some of these images are a little soft in focus. They came at a time of my new obsession with shooting everything with a 50mm at f1.4 and not caring about pin crispness. I had read a quote from my first inspiration to become a photographer - Anton Corbijn in which he stated “sharpness is overrated”. I took that to heart and intentionally shot at slow shutter speeds and was also inspired by Anton to use filmmaking lights by @kinoflolightingsystems to light my stills shoots Make sure you like the posts and tag friends that you think may like to see them.
