This is the cover spread for lucy’s look book. I loved doing this project and I completed it within 16 hours on saturday it was a long day however when I was doing the design i kept showing lucy the design and she kept asking for it to be very similar to the unscene magazine issue 1, I loved this design but I couldn't do it the same as i wouldn't want it to be the same its been done before. However Lucy wasn't happy with this so i had to do something similar, but what i did in this project to make it different was mess around with the layouts of photographs on each spread.

I feel like I got the narratives of each series across I worked very closely to place the photos in an order that would enhance the narratives of the series!

Today Lucy has a meeting with her tutors and I have asked for them to give feedback. Also today it will be sent off to print.

Apple have kindly given me the weekend off to do the rest of this work as its the final push of 9 days left!

1.  I went to a wood mill today and got a load of MDF cut today 6 of each sizes this is to help present in the exhibiton at the Degree Show and D&AD New Blood festival ifi get in. Planning ahead.

2.  I have finished Lucy Leach’s Photography Look Book one of the smoothest projects I’ve had this part of my degree. Now finding printers  to do print at short notice and within Lucy’s Budget.

3.  Also have updated my CV ready.

4.  Ordered everything to do with my Oh Skin Brand.

This is the mood board I have put together full of images that me and Lucy have been sending each other. We have been using Pinterest and searching through my massive collection of spreads and these are the ones we came up with. 

Words to describe the mood board. ‘Combines current fashion with past, analog aesthetics and influences, evoking feelings of nostalgia. I’m interested in capturing interactions between the model and surrounding environments’. 

Looking at this myself I realised that it also is reflection Lucy’s work which is on trend fashion with a feminine and analogue. 

We agreed that we will be playing type and it must reflect and sit well with the style of the photography. I feel this is going to be really fun. 

My other aim for this look book is to show how versatile Lucy and her work is so there is a male shoot going to be included with the 2 other shoots in there. 

The photos are to be designed and placed very structured but there is to be a rhythm to it going through. We want to keep the narrative flowing and the readers eyes moving forward. Think forward.

So these are the notes that I have done during the meeting with Lucy Leach

So sad that her last designer let her down. But I’m glad I can help so today and tomorrow are going to be spent doing this I think this is a pretty big brief to be honest so I can't really class it as a little brief. 

This is the plan she had 6 different shoots and we narrowed now it down to 3 shoots:

Lucy does need to get her act in gear a little she needs to figure out the names for the few shoots and make sure she is organised for sending me the information i need through.

Today I found this super cool website and has quickly become one of my favourite resource sites its called typewolf.com

It is the trending typefaces in the world at the minute for an example ‘The Gentle Women’ is still in the number 6 in best put together design with type. 

I’m really impressed and has given me so much inspiration I’m excited to get going with some new typefaces and create some awesome looking work.

So tonight I finally uploaded my front and back cover of my GF Smith printed and featured ‘un|scene magazine issue 2′. This piece of work has been through so much and including that gf smith didn't print my cover and sent me the printed limited edition print without a cover printed it was plain white so after a month they finally sent me a new one free of charge lovely. This is now after talking pictures in the studio they are looking amazing and in the photos you can even see the textures of the canvas I had forgotten how good lighting was. I love this on my website.

Some behind the sense photos of today's shoot for the degree show! We had 72 people turn up out of 89 not to bad but no showers are not good! We started the day at 10am got the studio nearly set up by 11am then the fire alarm decided to go off. So pushed me and Kiri back by half an hour! After this is was all systems go we started the shoot. The shots we wanted for each person where a head shoot(shoulder and above), 3/4 shoots and full length body shots! It went well all day! And smoothly run we even had a few breaks in between which was lovely! Kiri is going to edit tonight and maybe over tomorrow aswell. I'm chuffed with my head shots swell!

So me and my dad after work today grabbed my ‘& Other Stories’ order box and because it was exactly the size I wanted to order for the box anyway so saving the money that way and i am getting an awesome print inside. Also I found the awesome little package inside the box which I forgot about which ‘& Other Stories’ ask you to recycle your old things in store and you get discount in return how cool! 

So anyway as I have starting working anytime I can, I was on my lunch break drawing out ideas of the box outside and inside and I’m very excited as I’m going to try some techniques I have never tried before myself to keep the cost down. 

I also planned today the other things that are going to be offered with the limited edition box.
