1. blonde - frank ocean. come on. the blueprint. changed my life the first time i heard it and will change my life every time i hear it.

2. infinity on high - fall out boy. NO SKIPS. anyone who thinks this album has skips u need to LEAVE.

3. melodrama - lorde. again. the blueprint. this album has gotten me through everything.

4. AM - arctic monkeys. ugh. revolutionary for 13 year olds everywhere. i love the arctic monkeys.

5. um. can i say any lana album. if i HAD to pick it would be honeymoon or nfr. god. probably nfr. another no skips album.

6. thank u, next - ariana grande. yeah. or actually i should probably say yuh.

7. yer favourites - the tragically hip. THEEEEE GREATEST HITS ALBUM. again begging all my non-canadian moots to listen to the hip PLEASE. a staple in my childhood and my adulthood and my kids will be raised on this music as well.

Hi, I love ast, especially the hidden oasis under the Palace, I was wondering when you described Din's cohort learning to swim how the adults taught them whilst in full armour, do you think the covert used to be less strict? I know you write Din's birth family taught him but I can't imagine how hard it was for the covert adults trying to supervise swimming lessons.

Hello hello! Thanks for stopping by, and thank you for your question!!

Yes, I do think that Din's covert has gotten more strict over time. He's mentioned a few times in his internal dialogue that things were a bit different when he was younger (when he's thinking about living on kashyyyk, i think, especially, but also when he's thinking about the first time he visited tatooine.)

In my head, it makes sense that as time has gone on -- and as being Mandalorian has become an increasingly dangerous thing to be, especially around the time Mandalore is destroyed by the Empire -- Din's covert has gotten increasingly cloistered and strict about who goes where and when and why. Their "one adult out and about at a time" rule might also be more flexible if they've living in a less populated place.

But when Din was younger, before the Empire purged Mandalore, I think that the Children of the Watch were primarily hiding from other Mandalorians, and so weren't as universally hunted. In ast 'verse, when they lived on less-populated planets like Kashyyyk or Dantooine, they relaxed their security a bit.
