Phob's mother is one of the dumbest and most irritating characters I've ever seen in a BL series.
While her behavior was somewhat explainable at first, and even I understood it, the fact that 11 years later she hasn't grown in the slightest, hasn't changed, hasn't matured, only reflects poorly on her. She still has that exceptionally irritating habit of falling flat on her face before the aristocracy, putting them above herself and her son, and still accusing her son of everything wrong. Therefore, her own excuse that she's doing it for her son is utterly hypocritical. Instead of fighting like a lioness for her child, what kind of mother would belittle and humiliate him? Because she keeps repeating the same old, tiring argument about sky and earth, even 11 years later, still the same, even when her son stands before her, beautiful, strong, in a position achieved through his own strength, deserving of respect and admiration and the proverbial place at the table, but in her eyes still a servant sitting on the ground at his master's feet. She's surprised when Tinn speaks of him in glowing terms, Phob is surprised and moved, as if… hearing such kind words from someone close to him for the first time? 😑 Chat calls Phob a slave, but what amazes me is that Phob's own mother mentally treats him as if he were still a servant (slave?) of these nobles.
And my god, can she stop talking? Seriously, woman, half the misery on this show could be avoided if you'd just stfu for five fucking minutes! And if you didn't say all those awful, hurtful things about and to your son!
And that perpetually twisted face of hers, a grimace of agony —does she have any other expression? Argh, so annoying! Poor Phob.
(I know I'm going to sound cruel but I hope she doesn't stay with us for long, I don't want to see her shitting on happy Phob and Tinn in the finale 🙄)
