For just $428.99 This vintage extremely rare Andrew Spingarn gripoix brooch is just so incredible! It features a heavily gold plated layered brooch with leaves, scrolling, and levels of ornate artistry. The center of the brooch features a poured glass red carnelian colored stone in the French gripoix method. The artist and designer, Jeweler Andrew Spingarn, has been in the jewelry industry for well over 25 years and was based in Providence, RI. What sets Spingarn pieces apart is his attention to detail and old world techniques. Many of his pieces incorporate lamp work art glass pieces which are made in the traditional method used by French costume jewelers, Maison Gripoix. In fact, his lampwork technique was so precise that Gripoix family members came to the US to see his factory. Karl Lagerfeld also used his “poured glass” cabochons in his private label couture collection. He has collaborated with many other couturiers including Calvin Klein, Mary McFadden, and Norma Kamali. Spingarn jewelry is extremely rare and highly collectible. Rolling C-clasp closure. A perfect addition to your vintage jewelry collection!
