THE Shadow/Vio dynamic to me is that they have an elaborate spreadsheet recording/dictating exactly how much they owe each other at any given point.

This ranges from "killed me that one time (1/4 credit)" to "broke me out of jail" to "took the bins out even though it was my turn".

They are simultaneously both incredibly serious about it and both think it's arbitrary bullshit.

TFW you take the dogs out to "do their business" and you find a new species, genus, and family of fly in your yard. Oh and did I mention it's freaking JANUARY so the bug pop is close to zero around here? Hooray for climate change? lol

there's a spider genus called Panjange in the Pholcidae family (AKA daddy long-legs, cellar spiders, etc), and the males of many species have hilarious cartoon eyestalks. i don't know what their function is but i love them.

also check out those ridiculous pedipalps on the specimen photos. preposterous.
