Here's what that Jon sketch was actually for:
He's saying "Supplemental: Elias has just moved to the top of my list of suspects. This has happened for... Reasons - I do not feel inclined to discuss."

Leading The Dance
It has been a while since I posted anything, because I wanted to take some time and really hammer in what I was a learning. This is the first full piece I've done since I posted Martin in The Lonely, and I think my practice is paying off.
It illustrates the way Elias leads Jon through the plot, like the leader in a dance. Please enjoy as EyeTrauma, or simply as a representation of the plot at large.
Hope Everyone Has Had an Enjoyable Festive Period!

This took far longer than it needed to for a throwaway shitpost. Elias is living in his own romcom universe and I imagine it's something like this.
@unfairlyfallen happy now? Worth it? Hmm?
[Original reference under the cut. The man's scary blue eyes inspired this]
When it comes to pre-canon and Season 1 JonElias, there's a niche trope I've realized I'm partial to:
The tragically insidious nature of Elias helping/teaching Jon to do things that he would have learned from his father, had he grown up with one.
-False-apologetic and prefaced by "now, I know this is overstepping as your employer..."
Followed by Elias asking something like 'if Jon would be open to learning how to tie his tie properly'.
Now, Jon is a defensive little bastard, and his pride is easily bruised, so I can't imagine the first few offers of this nature would be very well received. They would almost definitely be met with "I already know how to do that!" or "yes, you're right, it IS overstepping..." and a hurt, pissy attitude.
-That being said... Jon is also DEEPLY insecure in his own abilities and image (this is demonstrated WONDERFULLY by canon Season 1 Jon conducting himself in a way that is obviously a poorly constructed imitation of Elias), which leads me to I believe that the implication that he's done something incorrectly and it's embarrassing would win out in the end.
AND! (While undeniably cruel...) This is a FANTASTIC strategy on Elias' part. He is effectively rewiring Jon to subconsciously associate him with guidance and knowledge.
If Jon has something he's uncertain of, his impulse will be to bring it to Elias, and to trust that Elias has his best interest at heart.
(Which, for obvious reasons, will be incredibly helpful later on... 👁️💚)
As a gay little man with daddy issues and a history of imprinting on every mildly-helpful middle aged man he's ever met... I can vouch for this method's genius.
-It isn't a nice thing to do, of course, but it would be stupid and inefficient (two things Elias is not,) to let such a golden opportunity for bonding and conditioning go to waste.
