Leading The Dance

It has been a while since I posted anything, because I wanted to take some time and really hammer in what I was a learning. This is the first full piece I've done since I posted Martin in The Lonely, and I think my practice is paying off.

It illustrates the way Elias leads Jon through the plot, like the leader in a dance. Please enjoy as EyeTrauma, or simply as a representation of the plot at large.

Somthing we dont discuss enough is the possibility of season 1 or pre season 1 jonelias

Because when he started as archivist jon would have done ANYTHING for elias's approval

When everyone else is selibreating his birthday he only engages after elias gives his full approval and encouragement

this also deeply contrast there future dynamic in a way that is really interesting

thinking about how jonah throughout the entire series is so very careful to never show any vulnerabilities with anyone but in the very end, right before hes killed by jon he is so. vulnerable and tender and most importantly afraid. fear is such an integral part of this series, the deep ways in which humans feel and engage with fear and the ways that fear motivates and drives people, the way that fear is weaponized and endured. and in that very moment, jonah shows that side of himself that has otherwise been blocked out. he shows jon honest to god vulnerability. even the oh so tender way he wakes up, the line reading as someone talking to a lover. like aside from jonahs intense fear of death, the only other personal fact we know about him is that he loves jon.

Okay Jonelias enjoyers we need to talk about the fun shiptag! We should all try to be on the same page. I've been seeing various tags in use so let's try to standardize it!

If you like you can send submission suggestions and then we're going to do a week long vote.

Why?: Jonelias is a perfectly good tag, however it's kind of inaccurate (and a bit boring). I would still encourage it's use though as it's the often used tag.

Edit: this isn't proposing to get rid of the jonelias tag. Just that if we want a fun ship name let's all use the same one and let's decide together!

@sweetmapple has a post where some brainstorming for names was happening here.

I know stuff like eyetrauma has been catching on and I will include it in the poll, but I do ask people to consider the crossover tags we will be getting. I did a cursory glance and there is unrelated fanart that includes eyetrauma even when the words are pushed together.

We could do what we usually do with the archivist and add a J making it jeyetrauma, but I digress.

The poll will go up Friday June 13th 2025 (since that's easy to remember) it'll be tagged the the various tags I've seen being used.
