The way Coulson goes off comms and sits with Diaz (that was his name, right?) and treats him like a human instead of a threat. It was beautiful.

That last shot of Fitz with his pillow is just so stunning. I’m not sure what sort of directions they gave Iain for that part or if Iain even knew that was the point when he would start to have feelings for Jemma, but you can see two things gradually become prevalent on his face: 

1) Jemma 

and 

2) the idea he’ll never measure up as a hero

okay but F.Z.Z.T. is still one of the best episodes of Agents of Shield ever and the more time that passes since i watched it the first time the more of a trip it is to watch

because they just look so young? And innocent??? It’s crazy????? They’ve been through so much since then like holy shit!

also that episode is reason number 33538495734 why i don’t believe Jed and Mo didn’t intend for them to become romantic eventually because it’s so clearly a turning point episode in terms of Fitz’s feelings... like they said it was only because of caestridge’s chemistry that they went in that direction but i don’t believe them at all

correct me if im wrong but i believe it’s the first episode we ever hear him call her Jemma... like that was put in the script for a reason. also his face in the last scene is literally “fuck im in love with my best friend” which i guess could’ve just been an involuntary acting choice by Iain but it seemed very intentional to me. Also they literally based the character off themselves so... come on you guys aren’t fooling anybody

basically this episode continues to fuck me up to this day and will fuck me up until i die
