Summary: Pei Wende didn't know where that promise came from, but he knew that someone should love him as much as he had loved the person, to have a promise with him to fulfill in another life. Thus, he pushed his feelings for Hua Wuxie away from himself, he certainly shouldn't think of his sworn brother that way, he was surely just in pain for a love he didn't know where to find.
A love that Hua Wuxie himself, years later, helped him look for, but they had found nothing.
And so, disconsolately, he preferred to be left alone about getting married, he preferred to just continue working for the Guardian Order and live a life that Hua Wuxie would always be a part of, even if he could never be his. If that had been the case, he wouldn't have had to worry, at that moment, about whether his children would be all right now that their mother had passed away.
He needed some more wine.
(You don't need to watch Pei Wende and Hua Wuxie to understand this fic, there aren't any references to their canon media.)
(This fic is part of the "Stars aligned in a perfect sky" side-stories, but can be read as a stand-alone)

Actor, Singer, Streamer, Endorser of Products...Dancer(?)...ok so I can’t actually say that last one with a straight face.
Anywho! Bai Yu is undoubtedly a talented chap, he also happens to be a flouter of rules and expectations when it comes to the concept of sitting ‘properly’...and interacting with flat surfaces when it comes to their intended use...and also just in general when it comes to supporting his own lanky, seriously-you-need-to-eat-something, weight.
This particular quirk is something I’m sure we’re all lovingly(?) familiar with when it comes to Bai Yu’s Zhao Yunlan. A character who I am fairly certain hasn’t yet met a surface he hasn’t sat or lounged upon.
At first I thought this was just a quirk of that particular character.
But then he lounged on a mortuary table in Detective L and sat on a counter in Fairyland Lovers, and I began to wonder if this was actually a character quirk or if Bai Yu was just Like That.
And so the Bai Yu Sitting Project was born.
The Project’s original purpose was to try and answer the question as to whether the sitting is a character quirk or just a Bai Yu Thing. Now it’s mainly just an excuse to watch Bai Yu and see if the man will take pretty much any excuse to sit, lean, or lounge...while making attempts to answer the original question.
If you’d like to join me in partaking of this particular brand of madness I seem to be cultivating, then head on under the cut.
If not, then keep on scrolling, nothing to see here, just a slight fixation on an actor with a draping habit.
Fair warning before you click, this is rather long.
Now then, just a few bits of admin before we truly start;
- image quality will vary depending on what I can find, apologies in advance for any of the really, really blurry images I’m going to post.
- I cannot make gifs, I wish I could, but I can’t, so you’re going to be stuck with boring screenshots (unless some absolutely delightful human being has giffed what I want of course).
- even though I’m not focusing on the stories in these films and dramas, I cannot guarantee that there won’t be any spoilers. Don’t know if that’ll bother anyone?
- this will be taking the form of unstructured rambling. It will have a conclusion...eventually...when I’ve finished my ‘research’.
Right, admin done.
Now are we sitting comfortably? Then I’ll begin.
We’ll start with When Larry Met Mary or 陆垚知马俐.
Do you know what we get with When Larry Met Mary?
We get eight seconds of screentime. Eight (8)!
From 9:14 to 9:22 Bai Yu is ‘Mary’s Deskmate’.
Here, play ‘Spot the Bai Yu’, it’s like an easy version of Where’s Wally...or Waldo for Americans right?
Can you spot him? In the room full of people sitting properly at their desks, where oh where could ‘Mary’s Deskmate’ possibly be?
If you guessed laying down at his desk with his head in ‘Mary’s’ lap...getting his ears cleaned, then you’d be right!
Eight seconds. I watched this nonsense, friendzone-for-life film where people in Spain apparently speak English without a hint of a Spanish accent for eight seconds of screentime!
And look, if you’d asked me after I’d watched this film if he goes for parts he doesn’t have to sit properly for, I’d’ve pulled up a pained smile and said ‘yes’ through gritted teeth. But I know this is stage direction or whatever it’s called, so I can’t entirely put this character choice on Bai Yu’s skinny little shoulders.
If you too would like to subject yourself to this *gestures vaguely at the film in general* just this, then it’s on DramaCool with English subtitles.
Right moving on! because the less I think about that film, the better
Next we have The Founding of an Army or 建军大业.
Bai Yu plays a chap called Cai QingChuan and my first thought when he finally appeared after over an hour and a half was ‘he’s going to die, isn’t he?’ But I had hopes that as a military man there’d be no leaning, lounging, nor inappropriate sitting!
Just look at him! With his shoulders back, and his spine straight!
Surely this isn’t a character that could be affected by the quirk of Bai Yu refusing to support his own body.
...then you realise he spends quite a bit of time splayed out on the ground either covered in foliage.
Knocked into a trench by an explosion.
Or, y’know, dead.
(Fun Fact - due to this film, death now counts in the column of ‘lounging/laying about’)
Amongst all the death and destruction, I did find time to snicker at the fact that of all the named characters in this, it’s Bai Yu’s character that seems to spend the most time on the ground...how very Bai Yu of you, Cai QingChuan.
If you want to watch this propaganda extravaganza of death and destruction then I found it on NewAsianTV with English subtitles. If you have problems with things like blood, beheadings, war related injuries like loss of limb due to explosions, or just general graphic violence then I’d suggest you give this one a miss
Let’s have something a bit lighter next, yeah?
So Hello Joann or 你好喬安 is...well it’s a drama this time, not a film. I couldn’t tell you what it’s about however as I skipped basically everything but the Bai Yu parts.
(It’s surprising how quickly you can get through a 32 episode drama when you don’t really care about the characters)
Bai Yu plays the ex-boyfriend in this one, a bloke by the name of Chen Xiao. Now then, he’s not in it a lot, I mean he’s in it more than eight-second-deskmate up there (look I am still greatly miffed over that, alright, I wouldn’t even have minded if the film was actually any good), but he’s in it enough to be able to introduce a couple of Bai Yu Character Things.
First up - The Crossed Legged Lean.
I first encountered this when watching Memory Lost (which we’ll be looking at at a later date), and I almost choked on my tea when faced with it here. This is the you-can-make-me-stand-but-by-the-gods-you-can’t-make-me-support-my-own-weight Crossed Legged Lean (not to be confused with the General Lean that sometimes appears, though not as often as this one).
Secondly - If My Feet Don’t Touch The Ground Then I Can Sit Properly And Not Look Uncomfortable While Doing It...that’s a bit of a mouthful, but the point still stands!
This is something I’ve become aware of during the hours I’ve spent ‘researching’ this Project.
Bai Yu will sit on the floor, he will lounge on the floor, he will play dead on the floor.
The moment he is in a chair?
His feet seem to turn into little Kuzco’s
They do not wanna be touching the ground. The floor is lava and all that jazz.
At most, one will touch the floor. If both have to then he looks so uncomfortable, it’s hilarious...though at this point I will admit that my perception of what’s funny is rather skewed when it comes to this man and sitting.
(This move is also what I tend to refer to as ‘Relatable Bai Yu Character Trait’, because I, too, prefer not to have my feet touching the floor when in a chair)
Ok so this is a Project to answer the question of character trait or Bai Yu Thing, and I know how to research both sides of something, I know I shouldn’t reach conclusions without taking arguments for both sides into account. I have a gods be damned Masters degree to tell me I know I should do these things. But some times? Some times things happen that make you throw your hands up and go ‘you’re writing the damned conclusion yourself, ain’t ya?’
Until I decided to follow my ‘research’ to the end, this was that moment for me.
Look familiar? He’s on a damned car...truck...whatever. And I can’t even say again? because this came out before Guardian.
You have a character type, sir, and it all revolves around your sitting habits!
As a side note whoever was in charge of his styling for this? They have cursed me with this suit/cravat combo yet gifted me with the image of Bai Yu in kinda tight 3/4 lengths where it’s like an Elf decided to try out Hobbit fashion but tighter?
Look I know the quality isn’t great, but tell me that isn’t some Elf who looked at Bilbo Baggins in his burgundy jacket and short trousers and went ‘I’ll try that’ after waaaaay too much wine.
If you wanna watch this then it’s over on YouTube, the quality isn’t too bad, and the subtitles are pretty good too.
I shall finish up Part One with Fa Hai, or Legend of Fa Hai, or 缉妖法海传 (or if you’re iQiYi The Story of Catching Demons)
This film is the first, and possibly the only, instance where Bai Yu doesn’t seem to lean, lounge, or sit weird.
He does sit on the floor.
But look at him, he’s all stiff backed and uncomfortable looking. There is no leaning nor lounging. He’s sitting properly.
The only time he really lays down he’s on a bed and the only time he’s against a wall he was herded there by the monk guy.
However before I mark this as the only character who supports his own weight, I’ve got to remember that he does get himself stabbed, leading to him technically lounging in a lady’s arms. And if being dead counts as lounging, then I’m going to have to count this one too.
And he’s not just in the lady’s arms once, I think it ends up being about three times.
So something that gave me hope for the ‘Character Trait’ column has been shunted over to the ‘Bai Yu Thing’ column.
If you’d like to watch long haired Bai Yu take the long, I’m-not-entirely-sure-what’s-happening-right-now, path to becoming bald Bai Yu then give this a try. Some lovely person over on twitter has translated it, and it’s also available on iQiYi (but honestly their subtitles can be a bit hit and miss).
Well that’s it for Part One.
Have we made any sense?
Not really!
Will that stop us from continuing our ‘research’?
Of course not!
Are we regretting the decision to catalogue Bai Yu’s sitting habits?
A little bit! sodding Larry meeting goddamn Mary...eight seconds, people! eight
Part Two, Part Three, Part Four, Part Five, Part Six
Well. I ended up falling asleep. I guess I was pretty exhausted from my last two days of work. But I woke up early and I am ready to keep on rolling.
So Fox lady is like: you want me dead? Fine, let’s all die together yay! What a crazy one. She makes a kind of snow falling, which could be dangerous for anyone getting touched by it. Suzhen and Qing Er tries to get rid of it, but even with joined forces, they can’t do it. Fahai also gets contaminated while he was surprised to see some demons helping. Kexin tries to corrupt his heart. When Suzhen and Qing Er can’t hold it anymore, Jing Song finally comes out and help.
Fahai’s master feels there’s something wrong in Lin’An and asks the Buddha to help them. What a powerful master. He makes the snow go away from the distance. However, no matter what, Suzhen is not willing to forgive Jing Song. Well he’s not really repentant, he believes he was right to do what he did and I understand Suzhen to feel betrayed. They have been friends for thousand of years.
After her father died, Ruyi becomes driven by work and won’t let anyone do chores in her stead. Basically she’s restless and now I am afraid Xu Xian will feel forced to marry her... ARGH. YIKES. Anyways. She tells him to heal quickly, lately he was coughing a lot, even blood. He says that is the result of the mistreatments he received in jail, but later at night while he’s looking at his books, it’s not. He doesn’t know how come he’s hurt to this point... Did somebody poisoned him? Where is Suzhen at that time? Come and save your husband TT
Oh god. He really was poisoned...
It’s demonic poison, Suzhen confirms it, and she believes it’s hers, but she can’t lift it. What the hell? She poisoned him while kissing him? How are they going to have a kid then if she every time she kisses him he gets poisoned? Well, that time she didn’t really kiss him, it was more like mouth to mouth to revive him.
He wakes up and tells her that he doesn’t want to burden her anymore. If she could get the antidote, she would have gotten it earlier. Sometimes, there are diseases that medicine can’t heal. No. Xu Xian TT You are way too nice to die like this. I know he won’t die, we are only at episode 12 out of 36 but STILL. He’s so resilient. He didn’t even to hold his lady in his arms, kiss her, marry her and stuff. No wonder this is a drama, because where in the world would there be a guy like this...
Suzhen goes back to E’Mei and tries to grow a plant to save him. Jing Song notices and stops her from keeping on doing it because she’s not strong enough to do that without dying. He seals her so she will recuperate the spiritual energy she lost and tells her he’ll take care of Xu Xian. Just after saying that him dying is matter of time. I wouldn’t trust him. But... at some point, he really cares for Suzhen and their friendship... Maybe I can hope for the best?
Why. Jing Song. I had faith in you. He goes to see Xu Xian to tell him he’s leaving with Suzhen. You are going to kill him. Qing Er. Stop that squirrel, he’s taking your jiejie away from you. Oh. At least he stills gives him the medicinal herb so he won’t die. BUT WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME? THIS IS SO SAD. Selfish Jing Song. Saying to Xu Xian he can’t make Suzhen happy ):
Ruyi bumps into a fake doctor. I am sure it’s a fake. He sells her a pill that can heal anything. Oh god. She’s going to feed this to Xu Xian and Xu Xian will die. That Ruyi... Thank god, she’s smart enough not to make him drink it without telling him. Since he doesn’t recognize the medicine, he doesn’t take it and tells her to stop coming and take care of the pharmacy instead. He rejects her once again, I believe it’s time she understands that he won’t marry her. He only cares for Suzhen. So she threatens to kill herself if he doesn’t marry her.
Suzhen finally manages to free herself. FASTER. Go to Xu Xian TT Why people keep coming in between them?
When Suzhen gets to him, she still can’t heal him no matter what so she goes ask her bodhisattva master and learns that it’s their love that is poisoning him and the more it is deep, the more the poison gets stronger. WHY? This is so sad. The only way would be to suppress their love for each other. Or... Suzhen could give her core to him and hide their love from the Heavens. She decides to give it to him, no matter what danger it may bring to her. True love TT
Suzhen is so pure in her desire to stay by Xu Xian’s side TT And with their bad luck, I am pretty sure they are going to face again so many trials. And now with her giving up cultivation... I hope Jing Song will wake up and help her before it’s too late. And if not... I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN YOU. I had faith he would think of Suzhen before himself, but no ):
Just generally speaking, before I continue on watching, I want to stress out again how beautiful is this drama in terms of visuals. I am actually really impressed by all the costumes, the special effects, the sceneries, everything. They did a really good job on that so far and it makes the legend even more... you know, I really feel like I am seeing magic. Also, the actors so far are all doing a good job, especially Yu Menglong as Xu Xian, his facial expressions are always on point and he has such a good chemistry with Ju Jingyi as Bai Suzhen. It makes overall even more enjoyable.
So the centipede wants to eat Suzhen’s core so it will become more powerful, but as it is about to attack Suzhen, the lady fights it from inside. She must have really liked her daughter. I am really sad for her. I really enjoy seeing mothers being portrayed as capable of overcoming everything for their child. Because I really believe that a mom is truly the most powerful being on Earth.
Okay, so now the monk is working along with Qing Er without trying to kill her. Anyways, the centipede knows they are no match to that monk and wants to flee, but lady won’t, she has to save her daughter. So she pulls out the centipede’s spirit out of her body. So the monk fight with the centipede and Qing Er even helps him. Suzhen tries to recollect the soul of Chang Sheng and the lady spits some gem out of her body, so the soul has been recollected. Suzhen crosses the bridge to send Chang Sheng.
Monk and Qing Er seems to have become friends? Whaaaat? Why? How? He doesn’t think cultivating creatures can become nice. What he is going to do? Use her before killing her? But I must say, that monk is pretty bad ass.
Brother-in-law called for Xu Xian’s help and he takes care of the poisoned guards. But then he notices that this place really isn’t somewhere to raise centipedes so he observes the room and notices something different about the painting on the wall. So it’s probably behind. But then they can’t budge the painting.
Suzhen sends successfully Chang Sheng’s soul away but then gets pulled back as she tries to come back. Jing Song tries to help. As they are done with the centipede, Qing Er jumps in to help too. Fahai remembers what his master said and decides to help too. Wow. I am impressed. But then, I really don’t understand how the rest of the story is going to unfold? Oh okay. So for this time he’s letting them go, but next time, he’s taking them down.
Finally, Xu Xian and brother in law saved the kids. Suzhen then sees Ruyi coming in and holding Xu Xian’s arm. Awww poor thing, she looks sad. Then as they leave, she faints which makes Xu Xian worried and he wants to help her as he is a doctor, but Jing Song won’t let him touch Suzhen.
After Chang Sheng died, his mom tried to commit suicide. Then Suzhen and Qing Er just comes in. They both can see Chang Sheng’s spirit in the room and then going to his mom’s tummy. So Suzhen tells her not to do anything stupid like that again because she is pregnant. So she asks Xu Xian if she’s truly pregnant. Xu Xian runs after her to ask how she knew without taking the pulse that the lady was pregnant. Suzhen seems disappointed that he came after her just for that, so she tells him girls and boys are different, of course she would know a lady is pregnant.
Suzhen is just the cutest. She asks Qing Er advice on human’s behaviour and Qing Er tells her that humans are sly and you can’t trust them, what they maybe is not what they mean, the best way to know of a human’s heart, is to look at them while there’s nobody. So Suzhen wants to spy on Xu Xian. Since she thinks it’s fun, Qing Er agrees easily even though her invisibility abilities are not completely good enough: Suzhen will help.
So Xu Xian is examining girls and obviously they aren’t sick, they just want to lure him. However, he’s not buying it, tell them to wear proper clothes before going out and rejects their invitation. They leave dejected. Seeing that, Suzhen believes he’s a good man of principle. Then Ruyi comes in and forbids him to let the girls consult with him. He says as a doctor he should treat anybody who asks and that those girls are very pitiful. Seeing this, Suzhen realizes she misunderstood them.
Even so, they keep on following him everywhere. Then pretend to be two man who lost some taels. Xu Xian just gives it back without taking it. Suzhen is mesmerized by him.
Xu Xian’s sister wants to invite over Suzhen and makes Xu Xian in charge of going deliver the invitation. However, no matter who he asks, nobody knows of the place Suzhen lives and he can’t find her. Then, it starts raining really bad, there’s a storm just as he asks the gods not to let him down like this. I am super excited about this. It’s stupid but well. Scenes under the rain, I like that. He’s like I didn’t mean to blame you. Awww, they both hides from the rain under the same pavilion. Cheesy, yes, but I crave on sweets and cheesy moments.
He’s so cute and shy. Last time, he just wanted to talk a little more with her. He gives her his handkerchief. The one she gave him to wrap his wound at the lantern festival. Aww, as the rain stops and Suzhen wants to go. Xu Xian doesn’t want to part, obviously, and offers to send her home. Since he has nothing else to do, Suzhen finally agrees and they can take the opportunity to show him where she lives since it’s hard to find. He looks so genuinely happy.
Back home, Jing Song is worried about Suzhen and wants to take her back to E’mei mountains. Qing Er won’t let her go and they fight about it. Guys, I believe she won’t follow either of you. First, she can decide by herself. Second, she has found someone worth of staying with.
As they get there, he invites her for the next and she doesn’t want him to go, so she makes it rain and offers him to have a cup of tea inside while waiting the rain stops. He looks so happy. Both of them. They are so naive. It’s cute.
Right inside, Qing Er and Jing Song are fighting. They almost hit Xu Xian while throwing objects and Suzhen saves him very last second by transforming the objects into birds. Qing Er won’t let Suzhen in before she cleans and when they open the door, Xu Xian looks devastated by seeing Jing Song. Is that a love rival? I would worry about Qing Er too if I were you. A lot of people like Suzhen... Then Xu Xian asks if there are anybody to clean the place and Jing Song transforms randomly some animals into a human form. You can imagine the results. So Suzhen to take them away faster pretends that she’s unwell and Xu Xian wants to have a look, but Jing Song won’t let him touch her, anyways he’ll take care of it. So Xu Xian thanks him and then... It’s funny, but poor him. Jing Song says there’s no need to thank because of his relationship with Suzhen. Basically, it’s like implying that they are married. That poor Xu Xian’s face.
A great way to end the episode. I think I am falling for that actor. Got to love him.
So Xu Xian gave an idea so his brother-in-law, Li Gongfu, won’t get in trouble by holding all these people inside. They just need to put their hand in some pot and if it comes out black, it means they are the culprit. So a first guy tries it, he’s okay and can get out. Since the musician lady was such in a hurry to go, Li Gongfu offers that she goes second. She tries to avoid it and definitely is scared. Then her hand doesn’t come out black, however, Li Gongfu still orders to lock her down. So basically, Xu Xian’s idea was that if someone was too scared of putting their hands in, they would be reluctant and most likely the culprit. Since her hands are too clean, it means she didn’t thoroughly put her hand in and is the culprit.
However as soon as they get out, big boss is there and believes that Li Gongfu accused the innocent and asks that the beauty must be released. The girl uses some power to read the mind of the official and convinces him of her innocence. He won’t listen to Li Gongfu and nobody else believes it.
Back at the pharmacy, Ruyi helps with the medicines and a customer comes because after eating the medicine, his mother got even more sick. When Xu Xian looks at the medicine, he realizes that it was the wrong ingredients inside and asks Ruyi not to help in the pharmacy again to avoid such mistakes. She gets angry about it because she just wanted to help. He says in every other way he can forgive and indulge her, but not about people’s lives. She whines about how he’s pushing her away because of Bai Suzhen and tells that she worked hard to take her away by telling her their relationship. Xu Xian looks really surprised, shocked. So he leaves to go to Suzhen’s place. But there is no answer. In the end, when he’s finally giving up knocking on the door, Qing Er finally opens the door, yawning. Even Qing Er is mad at him and sends him back to his Ruyi.
But our Xu Xian isn’t giving up, he wants to see her. Poor baby. He looks so sad. That Ruyi is so selfish.
Xu Xian stays out in the rain waiting for Bai Suzhen to see him. Suzhen heads out to go see him, but then Jing Song sees her and tries to convince her not to go because since they live for longer, they get hurt easier and longer than those humans. But in the end, she still wants to go and give him an umbrella. She just gives it to him and tells him to go back and take care of his health. She doesn’t give him a chance to explain the misunderstanding. He look so hurt. She also looks very hurt.
On his way back Xu Cian faints on the bridge and is found by a villager. Big sister tries to feed him medicine but he doesn’t care. Even if she doesn’t want to hear him out, he wants to let Suzhen know of his heart. Aww. But please don’t kill yourself doing so. So he makes dozens of lanterns even though he is sick. Even nightfall won’t stop him from making them.
In her garden, Suzhen lit a lantern because it is again the 15. She made a wish for humans to live long which surprises Qing Er. She looks pretty depressed. Right then, Qing Er sees all the lanterns that Xu Xian is lighting up in front of their residence and she and Suzhen read the words on it. He asks for a date the next day near Xihu (the West Lake).
Later Jing Song tells her they are leaving the next day. Suzhen seems a little hesitant. I bet she wants to go and meet Xu Xian. Jing Song probably decided to leave the next day to prevent that. He doesn’t want her to tell Qing Er because she won’t let her go, better write a letter when they are back to E’Mei mount. She tries to find excuses to go and leave later but Jing Song won’t let her find a way to go meet Xu Xian.
Li Gongfu is still very certain that Kexin, the musician lady, is the murderer and keeps on following her. Feeling the danger, she decides she needs to get rid of him. Right as she is about to do this, Fa Hai comes out and meets Gongfu. He tells him a demon chose him as its prey and gives him a dagger to protect him. Gongfu isn’t really convinced, but still ends up taking it anyways. Not long after he left the monk, the dagger moves by itself to attack a nine tailed fox, Kexin.
Next morning, Bai Suzhen goes to bid farewell to Xu Xian’s sister and gets invited to stay for lunch. Or whatever meal it is. However, the dagger the monk gave to Gongfu worries her, it’s showing. Also the dagger is acting up, it’s feeling demon’s presence. Big sister pretends to go buy groceries, but she actually went to fetch Xu Xian.
Back at the pharmacy, Ruyi tries to convince her father to betroth her to Xu Xian, but dady isn’t happy about it. Xu Xian isn’t good enough for his daughter in his eyes. He finally gives in because she’s crying and she forces him to go ask for marriage right now. Daddy isn’t so wiling, but I believe he can’t win over his daughter.
Jing Song neutralizes the dagger. Right then, Ruyi and her father comes right in. Oh no. Poor Xu Xian and poor Suzhen... I hope this gets resolved quickly. I don’t like that Ruyi. So basically, daddy asks for Gongfu to help him pretend that he came to ask for a wedding arrangement between Xu Xian and Ruyi. Oh no, poor Suzhen. Hearing this she leaves without letting Li Gongfu explain.
When sister and Xu Xian comes back, they bump into Qing Er and invite her to eat together. Then that’s how she learns Jing Song is taking Suzhen away so Qing Er leaves in a hurry to catch on them. He then explains to his wife that mister Jin came to trick his daughter and then she blames him for letting Suzhen being tricked too, no wonder she left so hurriedly.
Because it’s about to rain, the boat owner-driver says they should leave earlier. NOOOOOO.
Please TT
My heart can bear with poor Suzhen and Xu Xian’s heartbreak. That Jing Song. He wants to keep Suzhen to himself. Then the owner of the boat says someone is coming, Suzhen’s face lights up, she thinks it’s Xu Xian but she looks sad when she sees it’s Qing Er. Qing Er decides to come along, even if they will go into seclusion to cultivate for a few years. She doesn’t want to part with Suzhen. I really love that character.
Right after they left, Xu Xian runs on the pier and calls out for the boatman. Jing Song tells him that they don’t want anyone else on the boat and gave him money for that. But as the boatman tells Xu Xian so, he says he just came to look for someone, so the boatman goes back and finally Suzhen and Xu Xian meet.
I hope they solve their misunderstanding soon. I don’t want them to get separated. So glad that I have the day off and can binge watch.
