My grandmother and I have always been really close; it’s one of the reasons why Anastasia brings me to tears every time Anastasia and the Empress find one another. (EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.) This time around, though, two weeks before my 27th birthday, and about 10 years since I left home to live a continent away from my family and knowing my grandma is old enough to pass away at any moment, I ugly cried when the Empress said “No matter your choice [to stay or leave], we will always have one another.” Like, fuuuuuuuuuck.
