Ok so, the fable ship bracket voting poll....

I've said that "Kaleidoscope and Prison Duo need to have a 'we meet again' in the semi final"

Which - one thing lead to another - and I thought it'd be funny if the ships were personified and at voting debates, so our propaganda would be their arguments etc....

So here's my visual on that (basically morphing the two characters designs together)

Here's the versions that I did up to design what they look like...

So as mentioned, to make them, I fused the two characters together.

I'm also taking name suggestions!

So for Kaleidoscope, I gave them long curly white hair with scattered rainbow highlights - in this I tied it up, similar to how Malitae wears it. I gave them Malitaes horns, lots of colourful earrings and some horn rings. I also added a head jewelry pieces, that comes from Midas' circlet. I remember Malitae having "calcite skin" so I made them super pale, almost white, like calcite and some magenta/ purple sclera eyes.

I didn't have much on what Malitae would wear, but in the photo on their wiki, they have a nice, lose hanging piece, so I had Midas' jacket appear lighter and off shoulder - and instead of having a tie-dye gradient look, it's paint splatters. Under shirt that also doesn't cover the shoulders, corset and black pants and boots with a magenta shimmer to them

For Prison Duo - it was actually kinda tricky colour pallets wise - I combined Icarus' jacket with Centross' cloak and made it one of those jackets you hang off the shoulders (not actually put your arms in the sleeves) I shifted the purple in Ics jacket to a more Violet (like Centross' cloak), his amethyst necklace + their pins. Black fingerless gloves and shirt and jeans, also boots with a more Violet tint to them.

I gave them an undercut, the top has a bit more of Icarus' style to the fringe and shaved underneath. Icarus' ear wings, but again the purple shifts more to a Violet. The purple and yellow heterochromia + black sclera. Scruff! I also connected Ics prison scar to Centross' scar across his eye, so it curves around the face.

Small headcanons:

Kaleidoscope is mute and communicates through imagery, text or sign language. Number 1 shit-stirrer, little chaos gremlin.

Prison Duo: bird allegations (but also in the way that "this bird will bite")

This was actually a fun little challenge, so I might do more? For funsies?

Reading @ya-boi-haru’s Kaleidoscope college au thoughts has made my brain start going brrrrrrr like a microwave so random, unorganised and probably badly worded thoughts ahead!-

-They meet like Adam and his wife in The Adam Project. Midas wanders into Malitae’s art class on their first day 20 minutes late. To the wrong class. In the wrong building. On the wrong side of campus. They leave the class together and Malitae brings them to where they’re supposed to be, flirting a bit as she does and ends up slipping them her number, much to their confusion

-Midas is doing classes they dont want to (bc familial pressure maybe?) and after dating Malitae for a while, they switch their major to something they actually enjoy (creative writing/journalism mayhaps? They also seem like a history nerd to me-)

-I think in this AU, Midas is pretty insecure about themself and it takes Malitae a while to get them to agree to a portrait of themself. After seeing themself how Malitae sees them, Midas gets a massive confidence boost and is a lot more comfortable with themself

-Malitae works part time as a commision artist and volunteers at a youth centre sometimes teaching kids art

-Midas moves into Malitae’s place because he has an off-campus apartment and they want to get the hell out of their dorm building (which im imagining as the worldport). Epros owns and lives at the apartment too but works late and charges Malitae barely any rent so its a good deal

-I adore YBH’s idea of Midas being a bull in a china shop when it comes to art, it tickles me

-They go on museum dates. Midas talks about the histories of the sculptors/artists and the stories that inspired the art while Malitae admires the work itself, pointing out the techniques the artists couldve used

-Whenever Malitae has an art exhibition, Midas drops whatever they’re doing to go and support her

-Building on the last one, one of Malitae’s many portraits of Midas and herself makes it into an exhibition and he wanted it to be a surprise (Midas had to take a minute outside and redo whatever makeup they were wearing)

Midas is insecure about their voice because of the fact that their voice changed so much while being Quixis than before they were. Malitae absolutely loves their voice and loves to hear it every day because it's wonky and vibrates in her brain. She finds Midas's voice actually kinda cute and Midas goes full on gay panic mode when they say that.
