I have a great appreciation for the subtle facial twitch.

It's one of those little conscious/unconscious acting choices that rather grabs me by the mind-throat and hooks me into what that character is going through in that moment, that second, all the more. It's so quick and subtle there's a good chance you may miss it or don't notice it at all.

Stana Katic does it frequently on Castle. I was reminded it of it the other day from Benedict Cumberbatch when watching Ep.1 of Sherlock. It's been a number of other places as well.

It's that little twitch that says, "I greatly respect you...and I really, really want to rip out your throat right now."

Wonder if there's a facial twitch appreciation gifset out there somewhere...
